Have you removed the protective tape that covers the printhead jets?

I threw away the last of a series (5-6) of HP inkjets a few years back, I feel your pain.  Happier with Canon, as it it fast, multifunction (copy/scan/print) cheap $129 and the Canon cartridges per ml of ink are about 1/10 that of HP.   If push comes to shove, I'll give you the canon model so you can check it out.

There is a apparently a sticker on the bottom of the cartridge as well as the clear tape,  I know I asked before, but I'm hoping the sticker is covering the electrical connections?

Lexmark has had some problems with circuit boards giving the same symptom, I wold contact their tech support and tell them it's the 2nd printer, you would REALLY like to use it. They may have sympathy despite being out of warranty as it is a known problem.

    Good Luck,

    From Lexmark:
"Did you remove the sticker and transparent tape from the back
and bottom of both print cartridges (refer to your setup
    documentation for more information)?"

Canon MP520,  $129 at Walmart (I know, but it's the only thing less than 20 minute drive from my house).   Seems to come with full cartridges, not starters (not positive).

    Fast
    High Quality
colors in individual cartridge Y C M (they don't get used evenly) with
    B/W or Color Copy Machine
    Scanner

I am not normally easily impressed, but I like this printer alot.  Let us know what you think if you get it.

Printer has stopped printing blue

Make sure that you are inserting only genuine Lexmark cartridges in your printer. Removing then re-inserting the color cartridge into the printer is a quick to minor cartridge communication issues.
Make sure that your color cartridge still has substantial ink level for printing using the Lexmark Solution Center software on your computer.
Click Start > Programs > Lexmark X74-X75 > Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center. Check the ink levels.
If color ink level is still good, then it probably just needs some cleaning. Print quality issues can be due to dirty or clogged print cartridge nozzles. From the Maintenance tab in the Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center, click Clean print nozzles to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a test page. Try to print a color page again to verify that the problem with the blue color is fixed.
If the problem continues, try to insert a different known working color cartridge to identify if it's a faulty cartridge issue.

Try to reseat your cartridges. Unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset itself. If that doesn't help, try to clean your cartridges and check if print quality improves. If you're using Windows, go to Start -> Programs -> Lexmark X74-X75 -> Lexmark X74-X75 Solution Center -> Maintenance -> Clean print nozzles to fix horizontal streaks.
