Hi,

Had exactly the same prob on mine. The reset button is at the back of the unit, underneath the top, above and to the right of the dock connector.

Best way to see it is to hold the tomtom upside down with the screen facing towards you. Find the dock connector (circular connection at one end, with a row of pins to it's right), look above and you'll see a cut out with a pin hole in it.

In the age old tradition, an unfolded paperclip is the weapon of choice here. Place the paperclip in the hole and that's the reset button.

Here's a pic I found on www.tomtomforums.com (posted by Pedro2NR)

You do not have to remove the memory card but I would just for the fact that I would be re-seating the card and taking a diagnostic step above and beyond the call of duty.and if something is wrong with card and by coincidence it happened just as you reset the system, I would not be the object of your thoughts as a target to be practiced upon at that time.
You will find the memory card just under the TomTom logo on the front of the unit.
The reset button is a function listed in settings as a tool to Reset TomTom back to factory settings.
This process is referred to as a soft-key.

Tomtom 910 power problem

It is very small - a pinhole. Use a paperclip to press the button which is sunk inside the small hole.

Tomtom 730 doesn't switch on!

Hopefully all you need to do is a soft reset. To do this use a streightened paper clip and insert it into the small round hole marked reset on the bottom of your tt. Gently press the reset button in until you feel a click. Hold the reset button in for 20 seconds. Hope this does the job.

TomTom910 not charging

This is a common problem with the 910. Try putting an obstacle in the way of the wire to keep it on. Better still is to not use the home dock at all. Just plug the home charger in to the windscreen mount (device connected of course!) and charge it that way. You get a better charge and it will stay on.

My tomtom go 910 will not switch on it has the green light on at the top left when plugged into a charger but nothing turns on when pressing button for 2 seconds any ideas??

In general I find these sort of problems can be fixed by the below

If the Tomtom loses battery power it might cease to function with a blank screen but will show a green light when you charge it. The trick is charge it on the mains charger for at least two hours. Then reset the device with a paper clip. If you get no reponse hold down the on button for at least 20 secs and the device will show the Tomtom logo and play a drum roll and startup normally.

I have seen the green screen problem a few times before and this was caused by corrupted data / software or an error in booting up.
If you can't turn any TomTom off then perform a reset by inserting a paper clip into the rest hole and give 1 short press of the reset button ( it's a tactile switch so you should feel it click ) then try switching the TomTom on again the normal way. ( reset buttons are normally found through a small hole underneath the TomTom ).
If the TomTom does switch on but continues as before with the loading up problem , then it's best to format and reload all files from your backup copy.
A RED CROSS indicated a loading fault / corrupted files / incomplete files / corrupted or damaged media . ( media , meaning SD card or hard-drive )
