The trigger that releases the water is connected by a piece of plastic inside the handle. This plastic tends to bend over time, so it won't press the plunger high enough. I brought it to a vac repair place for the same reason and they added an extension which made all the difference. If I were to do it myself next time, I would look to see if a metal rod were possible to take the place of the plastic. Maybe not, but it would be worth a look.

Floormate Wet/Dry Water pours from the clean water reservoir when the machine is tipped back in the cleaning position. The reservoir is definitely in its proper place.
