Question about Dell 962 Photo All-In-One InkJet Printer
I replaced the black ink of the printer with a refillable one, it does not recognize it and when attempting to print a document it opens a window to order ink and asks if I want to "complete A Print"
HEEEELP! I am having the same problem. But I replaced it with a brand new black ink cartidge ordered straight from Dell. Dell is no help at all. I've spent probably a cumulative of 8 hours both on hold and in conversation with them. It prints color but no black. Very inconvenient.
I brought a hp Windows vista and i am tring to connect my printer to it my printer is a dell aio photo 964 please help

If you still have the driver CD for printer best thing to do is to remove the printer from your machine...uninstall all that printer software....reboot your machine without the printer connected....once you have rebooted the machine...plug the printer cable the OS will try to install a new hardware just cancel DO NOT load driver.......go to START>SETTINGS>PRINTER AND FAXES>ADD PRINTER
..........Select PRINTER ATTACHED TO THIS COMPUTER.........UNTICK <AUTOMATICALLY DETECT PRINTER>.......click NEXT....Select USB VIRTUAL PORT from the next drop down list....NEXT.......your system will now try to look for the printer and load the driver...insert your driver disc now.......this should just copy the drive only......
finish the installation and print you should be good to go....
The idea is to not load the picture software provided by Dell.....now you can use refilled ink on the system....but always reset the counters.......ALSO note that some other features of the printer will be disabled like...........
If you want to use all the package of DELL software.......Remove the printer..... uninstall all printer software....reboot and than load printer driver cd once the machine has booted and run install....You will have to make sure than you put in GENUINE cartridge all the time than......I think this idea is better than the first....
