I Already done all that aswell,im not exactly a learner on a pc,i know all the ins and outs of it all,no thunder storm or lightning,pc starts up ok,but every time ya tell xp pro to restart,it does, then hangs, with fans and lights going, but dosnt boot, pressing rerset buton it then boots ok.but restart it dosnt want to know, flashed all the bios many times from 1st to the new,it keeps doing it.msi neo3 board with 850watt psu 2x1gb crucial 1066 ram bfg gtx280 670 core.1gb ddr3 ram.Ive been all over the net,and others have same problem with diff set ups,its a motherboard fault, ive even been intouch with msi,but they dont know sh-t.Its not a one off, others have same problem to

Ok i found out the problem fix with my msi motherboard. In the bios there are 2 options "fail safe load" or "high specs mode".you load in the fail safe mode, save and reboot. After it has rebooted restart pc,and go back into bios.Do it back to all your settings, and save. Now when you restart it does, and just dosnt hang.So obvious a bug in there somewhere. But problem solved.

    try 2 more steps

one remove the cmos battery and than start the system see if that takes care of it or not

two disconnect the power cable from the tower and hold down the power button and hold it down for 10 seconds and than connect power again and try

by any chances did you have a thunder strom or lightning ?

HP xw4400 workstation wont boot/start if RAM are inserted.

If you are increasing the RAM from 1Gb to 2Gb then the RAM maybe incompatible. Try using a RAM module as the original make and speed.
Try installing one RAM module at a time to see if one of the RAM modules is faulty.
Removing the RAM will give a POST error code of no RAM or faulty RAM.

PC does not boots / does not start

Since your system reboots even if you stay in the Bios setup the problem with your system might be because of heating up of the proceesor, which might be caused if the fan CPU fan is rotating slowly or is not rotating at all. If the fan is rotating slowly change the cpu fan and try to reinstall XP

First thing is do you have a beep when the system boots? Sounds like you may have a BIOS issue I would start there........your RAM and processor are more than likely NOT the problem
