Make sure the machine detect the hard drive, and it is the right size.
WIndows XP will take some time to load and configure, if you have less than the minimum amount of memories, the system will stop.
check your memories. minimum 512MB, you really need minimum 1GB if not more. and make sure the CD is clean, no scratches.

We cannot seem to load win XP on DG43NB motherboard with SATA drives. Is there a way to do so?

The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP. The FIX. Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.

Carnt load xp carnt find hard drive

Try replacing your RAM and reformatting your hard drive. It is possible that this isn't the problem though. Try also using an Xp boot CD or a virus protection boot cd

Thank you for your time, Good luck and I hope this helps

I own a HP Compaq V5000. It turns on, go to one page that says, disk read error, press Ctrl/Alt/Escape to restart. And repeats this over and over. So I pushed F10 during the 1st page went into set-up,...

Hi Thanks for your question
The best and the easiest solution to this is replace the hard drive and install fresh windows. There is nothing wrong with computer itself. It's bad hard drive not letting Operation System Load.
Good Luck

Cannot get motherboard to boot from hard drive

Have you checked the Bios to see if its actually recognising the hard drive?

Turn on the computer and I think on your bios it should be the f2 key to get into the bios, if its not detecting the hard drive you may just have a jumper on the drive set wrong

Let me know if I can be of further assistance

Disk boot failure when I installed a new SATA DVD writer

Start the system & enter you're bios & use you're manual to help guide you on this. Go to the Boot section of the bios. You can set the boot order. Normal boot order is like this:
1st boot device, floppy disk (if one is connected).
2nd boot device, cdrom drive
3rd boot device, hard drive
(Drive the has windows installed on it).
Save & exit the bios. The system will restart & windows should load. If it does not, than you picked the wrong hard drive.

Good luck!

Load a new hard drive

Hi Dutshy1,

On back of the hard drive did you move the jump on your main hard drive and set it to Master and your secondary hard drive set to Slave.

Where the jumper is suppose to go is printed on the sticker on top of your hard drive.

The jumper is the little plastic thing on the back of the hard drive connecting two pins together next to the power port and where the IDE cable is suppose to connect.

let me know if that works.
