If they are green, red and blue lines, you have a typical convergence problem that happens in almost every rear tube projection set ever made. There are two IC's that need replacing to correct your problem. If you do not know how to solder, unsolder, work on solid state electronics, you really should call out an experienced tech to assist you in this repair. These sets now a days have no user replaceable parts inside of them. A TV set as this one, should not be a place to experiment around inside of. Good Luck

Rule out the signal source by seeing if same issue when a DVD etc is used.

Usually a wave like motion from bottom to top is either signal related or a problem in the power supply (wave moves from bottom to top suggests that).

If not on rear inputs (A/V) it is not the power supply.

Model number is not indicated here and might be helpful.

My screen has waves in the top and bottom and the colors is off with the waves what is the problem?

Convergence ICs have failed. Relace the two Ics and check the 6.8 ohm resistors. You can get the Phillips DPTV305 - DPTV345 convergence repair kit which also works for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the ICs and all the resistors plus a cd with detailed instructions.

DOUBLE IMAGE ON SCREEN. tOP OF PICTURE LOOK LIKE A

That symptoms are due to failure of convergence out ICs in your TV that will be replaced to get correct converge picture on front screen.

There are 2 big black IC mounted on big aluminum heat sink and number would be written on as STKxxx, these 2 ICs will be replaced.

If you want to repair TV by yourself then confirm model number of TV to provide you more info or call local tech to replace said ICs.
Thanks.

Wave would indicate your loosing high voltage and the tv is nearing the end. You can tweak hv, but its a short lived solution. Good luck

i'm no expert by any means; but I wonder if it could be as simple as the reflective screening on the inside comming loose. I have a 65" and I took it apart to clean it. The reflective screening looked to me like it could be a weak point. Just a thought.

Explain the wave. Do you mean your video is shrinking then expanding. If so www.magnavoxhelp.com has a kit that will fix this common problem.

Toshiba 50hp66 picture waves

Please describe the 'waves' and what you are watching when it happens, is it on everything? e.g. normal TV and when watching a DVD? Are the Waves a grey close pattern going diagonally across the screen for some other sort of pattern?
