Lexmark is one of the most popular printer manufacturers, and the installation process is fairly straightforward no matter what computer brand you have. Lexmark, however, doesn't always include all of the equipment required to hook up the printer. If you want to hook up your Lexmark printer to your Gateway laptop, you will probably need to purchase a printer USB cable.
1.Plug your Lexmark printer into the power outlet. 2.Turn on your laptop, or make sure all software programs are closed if your computer is already on. 3.Insert your installation disk into your Gateway laptop's CD or DVD drive. Wait for the "Welcome" screen to appear. If it doesn't appear after a minute, launch the installation CD manually by going to your start menu and clicking on "Run." In the "Run" field, type: D:\setup.exe 4.Press the "Install" button on your "Welcome" screen to go on to the "Introduction" screen. 5.Press "Continue" on the "Introduction screen" and press "Continue" again on the "Read Me" screen. Agree to the license agreement and follow any additional installation prompts. 6.Connect the Lexmark printer to your Gateway laptop when prompted. Plug the USB cable to the back of the Lexmark printer in the "Quick Connect Laptop Port." Then plug the other end of the USB to your Gateway laptop.

HP Officejet 6210 All-in-One is not tested on VOIP connections when it was in manufactured. However these printers do work with VOIP connection.
If you are unable to get the printer working on VOIP connection, there are few ways to fix this.
1. Reduce the Fax speed of printer ( from Setup - Basic Fax Settings - Fax Speed ). Try to Fax If this does not work, try the step below
2. VOIP is Digital technology and HP 6210 works on Analog Signals ( standard telephone line ) - You need a DSL Filter which converts the Digital Signals to Analog and vice versa. This filter is available at any departmental store or computer accessory shop
- Connect the DSL Filter to phone socket. Connect the printer telephone cable to Analog port of DSL Filter ( to Line 1 Extn port of printer )
Either of this should fix the solution. However there is another solution which may or may not be possible. It is to reduce the baud rate on your Cable connection ( though not recommended )
There is no USB port on your printer. Your printer cable has a standard printer plugin on one end for the printer, and a USB for the computer. If you do not have this cable, any retail outlet like Staples, Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc. will have them available.
Hello there: First what you will have to do is to install the cd rom and install the drivers and then it will tell you when to hook up the cable to the printer and it will show you the location where it needs to hook up then simply hook up a printer cable that should have came with the printer or if you do not have it you can get from any computer store or even walmart and it just simply connects to the computer on the back or if it is a usb type you can hook it up to any usb there as well and on the other end hooks to the printer port ok then it will recognize the printer and finish installing the hardware for you then you will have to restart the computer and you will be done ok? I hope this is very helpful for you Best regards Michael
It is not a scsi port it is a parallel port, the end that plugs into the printer just uses a smaller parallel connector, the other end will plug into a standard printer port. The cable is common used bu HP and Datacard, We have some used for about $10 Plus shipping www.midwestidsolutions.com MidWestIdSolutions (DOT) com contact us for ordering
