I put in my dvd on my magnavox blue ray player and it says disc error then something like disc not recorded for thins region code * 2 * 45 *

DVDs are recorded for three world regions (for copyright reasons and to match the electronic TV system also broadly in three world regions known as PAL, SECAM & NTSC)
You're likely in the USA as you refer to the Magnavox brand.
Your region is 1 and system NTSC.
Your machine is correctly telling you it can't play the disc because it's for Region 2 system PAL.
However, there are multi region players available, for a few dollars more, which play discs of any region or system.

Hi my traxdata cd900 recorder has just developed a problem. Ive been using maxell cdr's most were fine but lately:- a) optical failure error occasionally occurs b) will happily record approx 15 mins...

First to confirm if its a transport problem play a CD from track 1 to the last. If it is not getting stuck and smoothly plays till the end -- transport is OK. The same laser unit which reads the disc also writes. But when it writes the laser intensity is several times higher and the unit runs very hot. And old unit will start to misbehave due to the heat. TIME FOR REPLACING THE DRIVE UNIT.

I am trying to watch a blu ray dvd bit it wont allow me to play it the player just ejects the disc. do I need a software update

Not sure what you are playing it on. A BLURAY disc needs a BluRay compatible disc player, PS3 has one built in. Most PC DVD drives dont play BluRay as standard. Normal HOME DVD players of course cant play them either.

Hi,you can not play all DVDs unless you have a ALL CODE DVD player..
Here is the detailed info..

Regards and thanks for rating me.
-----
DVD region codes are a DRM technique designed to allow motion picture studios to
control aspects of a release, including content, release date, and price,
according to the region. DVD video discs may be encoded with a region code
restricting the area of the world in which they can be played.
It is therefore this US Association that is responsible for the RPC system that
effectively divides the world into six regions for the purposes of controlling
and manipulating distribution within the global DVD market.
There are six different official regions and two informal variations.[citation
needed] DVD discs may use one code, a combination of codes (Multi-Region), most
codes (Region 0) or every code/no codes (Region All). The commercial DVD player
specification requires that a player to be sold in a given place not play discs
encoded for a different region; however, region-free DVD players are also
commercially available. In addition, many DVD players can be modified to be
region-free, allowing playback of all discs. Region code Area 0 Informal term meaning "worldwide". Region 0 is not an official setting; discs that bear the region 0 symbol either have no flag set or have region 1-6 flags set. 1 United States, Canada, Bermuda, U.S. territories 2 Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus), Middle East, Egypt, Japan, South Africa, Swaziland, Lesotho, Greenland 3 Southeast Asia, South Korea, Republic of China (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Macau 4 Mexico, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania 5 Afghanistan, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Africa (except Egypt, South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho), Central and South Asia, Mongolia, North Korea 6 People's Republic of China, Hong Kong 7 Reserved for future use (found in use on protected screener copies of MPAA-related DVDs and "media copies" of pre-releases in Asia) 8 International venues such as aircraft, cruise ships, etc. ALL Region ALL discs have all 8 flags set, allowing the disc to be played in any locale on any player.

I have a mini hifi sony mhc dx50 the 3 disc changer doesnt work it wont play any cds and says there is no cd in it when there is any ideas?

It may be a dirty laser lens, or the laser is worn enough that is can't read the discs any more. There are cleaning CDs available, but I haven't found them to work very well most of the time. The most effective way is to clean the lens with a cotton swab moistened with optical cleaning liquid. That means opening the unit to get to the lens, of course, and some Sonys are harder than others. It's not an impossible task, though.

If the player still doesn't read discs after cleaning the lens, the pickup probably is bad. There are other possible causes, but the pickup is the most common. Thanks for asking on Fixya!

Sony cmt-bx5bt it wont play any cd's, not store bought not homemade. it just clicks twice and says no disc.

The clicking you are hearing is the optics attempting to focus and read the disc. If you can gain access to the optics assembly, try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Thaqt may resolve the problem. If not, then the optics need to be replaced.

Please keep us informed on the results.

Thanks,
Dan
