Question about Toshiba 65H82 65" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Toshiba 65h82 picture trouble

The picture began being blurry a few months ago and now it is completely blurred for the first 20 to 25 minutes. After that it halfway clears up, but it never clears up all of the way. And it does this every time it is powered on reguardless of how long it has been off. I have called atleast 20 different repairmen and none of them know what the problem could be but for $800 they would come pick it up and take it to their shop to work on and be happy to charge me for their time while trouble shooting. And even then there is no gaurantee that they will be able to fix it. Please help, I don't have a problem with paying whatever it costs as long as it will resolve the problem. Thank you for your time, Duffy Brown

Re: toshiba 65h82 picture trouble

Its most likly the Hi voltage/focus block assy. Or there are bad capacitors in the sweep power supply. You should call toshiba and get the number of an authorized Toshiba repair shop.

My toshiba 65 rear projection is blurry and has dual image

The fluid that is used to cool the face of the 3 tubes has become clouded and discolored. This fluid is serviceable. I wouldn't try it myself if you've never done it before. A TV shop can do the job.

Not a projection set if 32 inch---If looks like blotches try turning set with it on to see if they change--if so you may have not plugged the degaussing coil (usually a two pin plug) back in when you did the repair--it goes on the power board.

I have a Toshiba 65H82 and at first the picture was blurry but would clear up after about 10 mins now the picture just stays blurry. Can you tell me what the problem could be and if it is worth fixing it?...

Try adjusting the focus block this requires opening the back and front bezel of the TV. If it doesn't clear up after adjustment attempts then the liquid coolant inside each of the tubes need to be emptied and refilled with new coolant. Over time the coolant gets cloudy and can cause a blurry image with a white sheen. Contact me at the link below so I can help you further.....if this helps please rate:-)

Thank you:-)

Picture is blurry, but perfect sound

Sounds like a ground leg on the distribution block has loosened up and is not properly grounding the screen drive. worst-case scenario is that ione of the tubes (3 picture tubes) has started to short out and is causing the blur.

Wavy picture

this is caused by a bad convergence module, and there are probably some dried out electrolytic caps in the circuit as well. i have one in the shop right now that came in with the same problem. if you have it serviced, make sure they replace all of the convergence modules (there are usually 2, but sometimes 3 of them), because if one went bad the other(s) is likely to go out soon as well.
