55HDS69 Power Supply problem

Hi. the power supply in the Plasma has quit putting out the 96 volt supply. The vendor wants $400.00 for the supply board. Anyone know a better place to get one? Any idea if it is fixable? Or at least, where I might get a schematic for the board?

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks

Rob

Thanks for the info, I may try to just hack it by putting a 5v logic true on those inputs, but I'd rather find the real issue!  I replace the Digital Main board to no avail.  At nearly $200 per board, I am hesitant to continue this game of chance!

    Thanks

    Rob

I have found that the power supply is usually good, it's the other boards that tell it to shut down within a second. There are input called Vsego and VSago that tell the power supply to stay on.

What is the part # of the board you put in? I am trying to find a logical solution for all these 55" Hitachi plasma that have this same problem. Thanks, John.

It sounds like a shutdown circuit is being activated. This is normal in cases where the power supply id drawing excessive current. I would suggest that you get this looked at by a qualified professional. This is because this problem may be in the power supply and the voltages can get dangerous in this section of the TV set.

In any event if this is a power supply problem chances are the technician will just have to replace the power supply.

I hope this helps

When i turn the power on my 55 inch plasma tv, my screen stay black no picture

If you take the back off you might see a couple of electrolytic caps that might be bulged on the power supply board. The power supply board is getting weak, and if you replace the electrolytic caps that will fix the problem. You can also replace the power supply, and you can check at www.partstore.com for a power supply.

Have sound. But no picture

The Zsus and Ysus Board are common failures. It is a possibility that the Plasma Panel also is the problem. If you take the back off, (make sure unplug the set first), the board on your left is the Zsus and is marked accordingly. The Ysus is on the right of the Power supply. Look for fuses being open on the Zsus Board and Power Supply using a ohm meter. If they are, I would replace both Zsus and Ysus. They seen to fail together many times. If the fuses are good. I would suspect the Plasma Panel.
I hope this helps,
