Computer need to be reset

Two possible solutions:-
1. You need to increase the Ram of your computer.
2. Save important data from C Drive to other drive, and then install fresh windows as due to presence of so many unwanted files / programs, computer gets slow

How to master reset my emachine desk top ? Its very slow

To do a factory resore and remove all data look at the boot up menue it will tell you to push a key generally F10 or F8 to start factory restore.

However you can fix your slow pc with out doing that by running the command "msconfig".

Go to "run" from the start menu
click run and type msconfig in it

next go to that startup tab and disable all.
next look for sound and video drivers (nvidia, ati)that may need to be on. and turn them on
(Things like adobe reader and ms office can be safely turned off and will still run fine)

now reboot you should have a mutch faster pc.

Don't forget to rate.

Need to reset my PC to the original factory settings

You will need to insert the Windows disk that came from Dell and reboot the system, follow the on screen instructions. If you do not have a disk, you will have to look for a dell recovery option within windows.
Good Luck!

I have a Maxtor media drive attached to my HP computer. I tried to open a file on it and it froze up and slowed the whole computer down. I can no longer access the drive. I tried to attach it to another...

hmmm..well..that may mean that the computer is still in access mode...turn it off..plug into original computer..insert installation cd in drive,,..run set up from cd..should ask for you to turn on the drive somewhere in that sequence..

I cant get factory settings on my computer My hard drive wont work properly Ihavent got any memory.Computer very slow Please explain in laymans terms Obliged

1. Factory settings on computer.
There really isn't "factory settings" to reset. Well it isn't simple as that. There is the BIOS which can be reset to "default settings" for the BIOS. Also most brand name computers come with a recovery feature, in which you can recovery/restore the computer back to original factory defaults with original software all installed. Therefore the computer's operating system (usually windows) will be running with the programs like it would run if you were to buy the same new laptop.

2. Hard drive won't work properly.
You can give the hard drive a test using the hard drive's company's hard drive testing software which can be download from their site. The software would test the hard drive to make sure nothing physical is wrong and the hard drive is functioning like normal.

3. Haven't got any memory. Computer very slow.
You can always buy more memory. If windows says it's running out of memory. That means there is too many software running in the background.

Comment if you want more explained.

Original set up

I'm not sure I understand your problem.
You want to reset your computer to factory settings? So a clean install of Windows?
If yes, tell me which Operating system you are using: XP, XP Media Center Edition, Vista...
Dell didn't deliver a Windows-disk with your system, because the installation can be done from your hard drive.
Please answer my questions and I'll help you further
