Question about Televison & Video
It is highly likely that the set has failing electrolytic capacitors in the power supply and/or linear power stages. At this age,it is almost guaranteed. There are no serviceable parts in the set that can make for an easy fix when this sort of problem arises. For a set that age, I would recommend looking at replacements. Money spent on an old set may be a false economy as new sets of this size have some down so much in value. Happy to talk to you more about it.
