Question about Durabrand DWT2405 24" TV

1 Answer

Right speaker not working

I have a Durabrand 24" and when I use an XBOX system, the right speaker will not work after I put in the A/V cables. since the tv only has two plugs and the XBOX has three. when I switch the Audio cables I can hear the othter side but still in the same speaker. I bought two of these tv's and they both have the same problem. This problem was present when I bought it from Wal Mart.

Re: Right speaker not working

If it happens on both TVs and when you switch the cables and the other side works, then it is not the TV set and something with the Xbox or the cables going to the Xbox.

I am having problems with our daughter's tv. The volume isnt working now even though the picture is fine?

Have you looked at the headphone jack? Sometimes a set is left plugged in and sound wil not come out of speakers.

Also, look at cable box. It can sometimes have a separate volume control.

last, if you plug in a set of headphones and you hear sound, pick up a pair of inexpensive powered speakers and use those.

I have basic Cable service, but only half of my channels come in clearly. I have a different TV in a other room and it works just fine. So i know its not the service, so i believe the Durabrand tv stuck on...

Just check its cable connections at its rear socket for tightness. If it is alright, put the set to auto tune, and let it tune all the avialable channels from the cable at that time and store it automatically. This may take 2 or 3 minutes. Wait till then and check for clarity. If the result is same as previous, the tuner inside your TV is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number. OK.

Durabrand tv's were made for Walmart by Funai, Haier, and Orion. Look under those names for codes.

Lost my remote

Sometimes you can change the input by just clicking the channel button up >>> after the highest tv channel it'll go to Input 1, Input 2, etc. That's worked on one of my tv's but not all of them so it might work for you, too. Next suggestion would be to buy yourself a couple of universal remotes & keep them in a junk drawer for when you need one! We've found this PRICELESS!!! (Buy a couple when they're on sale & store them for those days when the remote was devoured by that oh-so-sneaky sofa!)

No sound

You should turn mute off, or maybe its the volume setting. If none of those are right, then it's time get new speakers for the TV.

One speaker has stopped working

It could be the cable connecting to the speaker, or the speaker itself. Try taking the cable that's connected to the left speaker and connecting it to the right speaker. If it works, the cable connected to your right speaker is defective, if it doesn't work - your speaker is.

Dear friend, Try connecting a pair of Headphones to the Headphone socket in the front of the TV. Do you get sound in both headphones? If yes, then it means that the Right speaker has become faulty. No sound in Right Headphone? Then the Audio Amplifier IC has to be replaced.

Cable hookup

Sounds like the tuber input has broken. This is very common in todays TV's. A local shop might be able to re-solder the connector bacck on but, if not then the tuner will need to be replaced. Call around and see who might give you a free estimate.
