If you go to www.dell.com and go to the suport page and enter the tag number for your laptop it will give you a driver listing. The driver for the wireless is in the system bios update

The devices that have a yellow ? against indicated that device drivers was not installed.

You can download any/all the Windows XP device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page.
Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers.

Gatewaymx6421 help with fixing Mass Storage and SM Bus Controller

More often than not this is because there are multiple instances of the devices in the device manager and therefore until there are only one, they show up as yellow !. The best way to reinstall is to remove ANY mention of the device, then scan for new hardware and install your drivers from there.

No wireless connection because of problems with my Base System Driver and SM Bus Controllers

Go to "Device Manager" and look if any yellow or red alerts are being displayed next to any devices. To access the "Device Manager" go to the 'Control Panel", "Administrative Tools", "Computer Management" and select "Device Manager" located in the left side column. If they are alerts, you need to go to www.support.dell.com and select "I'm looking for drivers and downloads". If you don't have the proper version of Adobe you will be prompted to install it. Once installed return to "drivers and downloads" and enter the "service tag", (serial number) of the 1501 laptop. Dell keeps a listing of drivers for every customer's computer they sell.

Dell Inspiron 710m PC Notebook Problem

Go to "Device Manager" and look if any yellow or red alerts are being displayed next to any devices. To access the "Device Manager" go to the 'Control Panel", "Administrative Tools", "Computer Management" and select "Device Manager" located in the left side column.
If there is an alert, double click on that device to determine the problem, i.e.… device not configured, cannot start this device, etc…
It sounds like all your software drivers got blown away or can’t load. If that’s the case, try running diagnostics. Press and hold the <Fn> key while powering the system on. This will initiate a diagnostic routine to check your hardware.

USB Port

go to my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager and go down the list to universal serial bus controllers, click on the '+' sign and see if any on the list have a red cross or yellow exclamation mark next to them, if there is '!' then right click and click update driver, if a 'X' then right click and select enable. If still not working, right click anduninstall all the controllers and then restart notebook and the controllers will be re installed and hopefully should solve the problem, if not then there may be a usb port fault on the motherboard
