Question about Bryston 7B SST Amplifier
For a progressive rock listener which amplifier do you suggest to drive 802N in an order 5K US Dollars.
If you love prog rock, then you are probably into guitar tone, then you just may be looking for the warmth of a tube amp. Trouble is... which one. I wish I had 5K to spend on an amp:)The B&W's are a bit on the chunky side to take with you to a HiFi store to test drive amps, so perhaps call to a store with your a few of your favourite CD's/records and test drive a few tube amps with whatever speakers they claim could keep up with the 802's (there may be none:)) to at least short list yourself a few amps that you would like to try on the 802's. then get them to bring out that short list of amps back to yours, and trail em in your lounge. Probably a good idea to ring around first and see if you can find a shop that will agree up front to do this, but is the best way to buy gear. I would do it for you! You are ready to spend $5000 when all said and done, so explain to them if they want the sale, this is how its gonna go. It is impossible to trail anything properly without it being in your listening environment. Hope this advice helps, I have been repairing amps for HiFi shops my whole life, and the good ones will work with you in this way. Cheers
