It more than likely needs the control board taking out and looking at. The dial contains a small drive motor, which can give up, or it could be that the water level or temperature sensors ae not working correctly. these give the control a signal to advance when the drum is full enough, and when hot enough. Are you sure the outlet hose is 3/4 the way up the machine? - too low, and it will always drain before getting full enough.

What may be causing my washing not to finish the washing cycle

If you think your washing machine may be faulty, check the following points before calling a Service Engineer. These checks could prevent a charge being made for the Service man's visit if the machine is found to be in perfect working order.
Initially check the filter on your washing machine and clean if necessary, your manual should detail this procedure.
If your machine will not start or complete the programme, check:
  • The plug, the socket and the switch, if necessary, with another appliance.
  • The fuse in the plug.
  • That the door is closed.
  • That a programme is accurately selected.
If water will not enter, check:
  • The hot and cold hoses are correctly connected to the relevant caps and that these are turned on.
  • That a suitable programme has been selected.
If water will not drain, check:
  • That the outlet hose is not kinked or raised more than 40

Hotpoint WMF760 fills with water but doesn't move through programme

Bad motor/ DC power inverter control assembly. My suggestion is don't buy electronically controlled washing machines. They're designed to stop working and for corporate to sell you parts and service again and again and again, until you go buy a rebuilt second hand fully electro-mechanical good ole reliable mechanical top load washing machine.

Hi, recently bought a bush a126q washing machine, worked perfectly fine after 2 washes. However, firstly the programme starter light doesn't stay on throughout the wash, is this a problem? Then the washing...

Sometimes things can get out of sync. Try unplugging the machine for a few hours to rest the code on the board. It's like rebooting your computer. I did this to mine and it cleared up the problem.

Program over running

Could be that the heater element is not working, therby prolonging the wash programme, if it works o/k on a 30 or 40 degree wash, then it is more than likely to be the j heater.
There could be other factors that could cause your prob.
Please leave feedback.
Thanks.

Programme not going through cycle

Hi does the machine fill with water? If the machine programme dial does not move then it is more than likely to be the heat cycle that needs looking at!
If you are local to me then we can arrange a visit to repair.
Good luck.............................

Hotpoint BWD129 1200 spin - unwanted drying cycles

This is more a workaround than a solution. When you choose the washing programme (say "D") and push the on/off button, two lights will flash, the "door locked" and the "drying" one. Now turn the "drying programme" button until the "drying" light stops flashing (in my case, this is true when I set the drying programme to 40°C). Then start the washing mashine.

Seems like the function of the drying programme button has shifted against the settings written on the button...don't ask me why! Of course, no guarantee but works for me. Please let me know if it does for you.
