Question about Brady GlobalMark MultiColor (76800) Label Printer

Hi

I am trying to connect my computer to a Brady GlobalMark MultiColor Label Printer using serial cable, the drivers are installed properly, PC recognises the drivers, but when I do a test page it says unable to cmmunicate to a printer bidirectionally. I think its something to do with print settings

You have to set this online connection type from the SETUP-ONLINE-ConnectionType and set this to SERIAL if you are using a serial cable. Hope you have selected the port to the correct serial port or you have run the Port detection utility with the printer connected and switched ON while setting up the driver.

Brady TLS2200 won't feed labels. no errors.


Turn off the printer and open the printer back door. Use a spot light and look inside properly. Make sure there no paper. Some times a small piece of paper creates the problem. Then after open the back door, top side turn the printer upside down . So if anything is inside it will come out.
After cleaning again connect it with PC and turn on. Now give a look. If you face same problem then Un-install the printer driver and software from the PC. Then restart the PC and Printer both. Now connect the Printer with PC via USB and install again the driver & software (Check if there are any new drivers on the website) .

Power Supply Board went out of printer. Dop you know where I can purchase a replavement power supply board?


I would check with the manufacturer, call them or email their tech support. If you are going to replace the board your self you can always check eBay and search for the proper model number.

How do we print logos using brady's global mark printer and process color ribbon


This can only be done if you have the printer hooked to a PC. You should be able to save your logo as a image file (i.e. bmp, jpeg, gif), then use the "Insert Graphic" button in the MarkWare program, navigate to your image, select it and presto.... It WILL NOT cut out the image though. If you want it cut out you must use the multi-line tool and trace around the whole image outline.

Display is blank. Printer still works with PC.


It sounds like the display has failed (most likely) or the connections to the display have come loose (least likely). In either case you'll need to send your printer in to Brady for repair. Another option is to check with Graphic Products. They can repair some GlobalMark problems at a much lower cost and get it done quicker than returning the printer to Brady. They have a free tech support form at http://www.graphicproducts.com/request-support.php and will happily answer questions from GlobalMark owners who are not their customers.

Tape continues to retract


This sounds like the tape sensor is either dirty or has failed. You may be able to clean it with some help from tech. support. Brady charges a fee for access to theior tech. support, but you can get free tech. support for the GlobalMark from Graphic Products. Use the form located at: http://www.graphicproducts.com/request-support.php

Cleaning is the easy solution, there is a good chance the sensor has failed. In that case you'll need to send your printer in for repair. Graphic Products is also a good option for getting a GlobalMark repaired. They do quality work, cost less, and will get the work done faster than Brady.

Error 56


When you insert the cassette, make sure the cradle is symmetrically aligned on both side of the centre line in the orange band on real end of the cradle. If it is assymmetric on either side of the centre line you will have this error.

Get a printer head error. Printer needs serviced. Error number 82


82 error indicates the printer encountered a critical error with the EIO (JetDirect) card in slot 2. Recommended action is to power off then back on, Reaset the JetDirect card, or if the error persists, replace the jetdirect card.

I sounds like the cutter is jammed. This most likely was caused by a some tape getting caught in the cutter mechanism or by a build-up of adhesive on the cutter blades. The noise is most likely the cutter trying to actuate and not being able to. The solution is to clean the cutter to remove any debris and adhesive. This is normally done by a service technician and thus requires sending the printer to Brady. You can get faster service that costs less by having the printer cleaned by Graphic Products. They provide a full cleaning and diagnostic service, and can repair many problems. You can contact Graphic Products at 1-888-326-9244. They are also very nice about answering any questions you may have about the GlobalMark.
