Hi,
Try washing just an old dish towel on the hottest program, with 1 cup of soda crystals only.

Before starting this though, remove the detergent drawer, and clean it in hot soapy water. Spray a general surface cleaner into the drawer appature, and clean out as much as you can reach with a small cloth. Put drawer back and, put 2 tblespoons of soda crystals in the detergent section of the drawer too. Wash on hot.

These are mostly caused by a build up in the dispenser drawer.

My laundry is getting black spots from my Samsung washer I don't know why and how

if you use powder detergent and the machine is some years old . it is more than likely that the build up of power ( black greasy like substance) is breaking away in the wash action and being left on the clothes

Greasy marks on cloths; All washing machines

90% of greasy marks on cloths is due to scum build in the outer bowl of your machine...top loaders being the most vulnerable. prevention is better than cure. At least one hot wash a week on high level. If your machine is an early model one or two with a good bleach subject to manufacturers instruction...bleach is very cost effective and works well.

Black type residue being left on clothes

Hi there,

This is a common problem on washing machines, if you predominantly do cold washes.

Over a period of time, a washing machine will accumulate a buildup of Soap Scum (excess soap & softener residue) which can stick to the inside of the drum.

This black coloured soap scum occasionally breaks away from the drum, and attaches to the clothing fabric during the wash cycle.

You can rectify this, by doing the following:

Firstly, purchase a packet of CITRIC ACID from your local grocery store (usually found in the baking isle).

Do the following procedure before going to bed:

1) Do a HOT WASH without clothes (Hi water level, with HOT water) - allow machine to fill with hot water, then add the CITRIC ACID to the water. Allow the machine to complete a FULL wash cycle (i.e. allow machine to agitate for 30 mins or so, then drain).

2) Fill the machine again with the HOT water / CITRIC ACID solution, but this time allow it to sit in the bowl overnight (no cycle).

3) Next morning, set machine to spin & drain (i.e. to empty the solution)

4) Set machine to fill with FRESH HOT WATER ONLY (no citric acid), then set machine to spin & drain. This will flush all remaining residue left in the bowl.

Note: Soap scum residue is caused by using excess detergent/fabric softener. Hot Water flushing should be done every 6 months.

Contrary to what the detergent manufacturers state, you should follow Samsung's instructions by using HALF the recommended detergent.

Samsung machines prefer LOW SUDS, and you may find by reducing the amount of detergent used, you may even eliminate the buildup of soap scum.

How do I clean the machine?

Sounds like soap scum build-up. Try running it through a cycle with a cupful of vinegar added. Old-wives method, but I have hard-water, and it works often.

I have a Samsung SW60ASP toploader and it continues to deposit black 'bits' in the washing machine after use, staining clothes and I have to wash everything again. I have had the drum cleaned, but the...

To overcome the problem, try using hand hot water for your wash once or twice each month, the hot water keeps the inside of the machine clean by not allowing the oily residue from body oils that adhere to your clothes from sticking to the hose etc, also there is always some water left over in the bottom of the bowl (you can't see this water) which has left over scum that has not rinsed away still sitting in this water. GIVE YOUR WASH AN EXTRA DEEP RINSE WHEN THE CYCLE FINISHES.(just turn your dial to where it says RINSE) that way your clothes will be much cleaner and the washer will have removed any left over gung etc from your clothes and bowl etc.. Hope this helps..
