Try looking in the trunk on body\sheet metal. Possibly on the wheel well. Also check near spare tire.

Perform the steps in order:
1. Turn on Radio. "Safe" appears in display.
2. After 3 seconds, the number "1000" will appear in the display.
3. Use the radio station preset buttons 1 to
Use preset button 1 to 4 to enter the first digit in the code number. Use button 2 to enter the second digit, etc. The value range for each of the 4 digits is "0-9". The digit will increase by 1 each time you tap the preset button. The number returns to "0" after 9".
4. After you finish entering the code, press the right side (">") of the SEEK button for longer than 2 seconds until you hear an audible signal.

Have had a garage change the radio in my Audi A4. The new radio is showing "Safe Code". I was advised that this wouldl change into four zero's in about 30 minutes to an hour with the ignition...

shouldnt take this long but it can take 24hras before it reads ,i would advise fitting a aftermarket unit withy a USB and SD card reader rather than an old VW one like this

After given the correct radio code from a holden dealership I pressed and held the "AS" button and after a short beep was heard I entered the code using the correct proceedure,Now how do I get...

You appear to have been given the wrong code.

For the correct code ,the radio SERIAL NUMBER will be required

First remove the radio from the dashboard.

Then post the radio make+model plus all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

This information can then be used to see if a code can be calculated

Once radio switch on safe appears press (as and power) number 8 and safe come on

It requires a code ...and SAFE usually means that someone has been entering the wrong code.

To restore from SAFE , leave SWITCHED ON , UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itsel

This may take an hour or two

Make sure you have the correct code.

Any doubts , then post another question quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus all the letters and numbers on any labels, barcodes or atamped in the metal casing.
Also quote the make of car

Hi I replaced some fuses in a 03 Opel Zafira. When I turn on and press the AS button SAFE appears on the screen. Entering the code does not get the radio working. Any help much appreciated....

U need to check the poer lines {both of them} at the radio to varrify that your unit has power. The other thoughts I have is you have the wrong code, the wrong code has been entered more than three times in which you will have to leave the unit on for appx 3 hrs. or something in your radio has gone arraie. But te first thing I would do is check the power by unpluging the radio using a meter or test light and make sure u have power going into the radio. Also when you remove the plug look and see if there is a fuse in the radio that hasn't blown.
