I need to change the password to our internet and I don't have a desktop, I have an I-Pad.

I think you can go to the router IP address on your browser. Google the router brand and find the address. From there you can change the password. This is step-by-step for Linksys.

Cant Connect to router

make sure that the network card gains an IP address from your router
, it should be configuerd for automatic IP then try this:
use ping command to check connectivity with router let us say the ip of your router is 192.168.1.1
the from command prompt use the command : ping 192.168.1.1
the router shoud reply , if so then make sure that configuration on your router is correct and no filtering roules enabled that puts your IP or MAC address in block mode.

I dont know what my wep is for my wireless router

it may be on a label on the bottom of the router!
if not, try connecting via the network cable and put the ip (usually on bottom of router eg 192.168.1.1) address of your router in the address bar of your browser (internet explorer/firefox/safari,etc) and checking in the wireless settings for the wep key--you may need password to access router, but you can google exact details if you get an ethernet connection first

When I set up the router It comes back with the internet is not hook up, but when I hook the intern et up to the lap top it goes right through Please help me with this problem

try restarting the modem while it is connected to the router. the modem probably thinks that it is hooked straight up to a computer not a router. if that doesn't work go to the web gui by going to the routers ip address on a computer connected to the router. the easiest way to find its ip is to go to run (or the bottom search bar if in vista) and type in cmd. once this is up type in ipconfig /all look for the the default gateway. write this number down somewere.
next go get on a web browser (internet exploiter or fire fox) and in the address bar type in that number. this will take you to the web gui. start adjusting the router so that it works with your internet service.

Modem and router both say they are connected but both pc's unable to connect to internet.

Go to your router configuration, usually by opening a browser, then typing http://192.168.x.x, putting the ip address of your router in place of the 192.168.x.x. Once there, make sure that you are connected to your ppoe account. The model of your router would help me to help you better.

My computer down stairs says im connected to the router upstair, but i can,t connect to the internet down stairs.is it my wireless n usb network adapter.

Try putting the router ip address in your browser address bar, if the router configuration page is displayed this would normally mean there is not a problem with your wifi connection.
Most routers will from these pages indicate wether you are connected to the internet successfully if you are unable to determine this from the indication lights on the router.

Acquiring ip address

you may need to set a key on your router and PC (recommended for security anyway). Access your router with your internet browser (default is often 192.168.0.1 - listed in your manual) and get the long default key. Put this key into your wireless card set up and reboot.
