Ibm a31 0190 erroe

If you pull the battery out and turn it on with AC power only it should still work.

This however is not the case in my situation.

I have a t61 lenovo and it is giving the 0190 critical-low battery error and it does this even when the battery is out, and plugged into the wall with the AC adapter. I am not sure, but could it be the CMOS battery causing this problem?

Error 0190 means you need to charge your battery. Either your battery is not charging properlty or your charger is not working anymore. If the computer works while plugged in and gives no error then it would be the battery that needs replacing. If the battery is a few years old then you may want to order a replacement. If the laptop doesn't work while plugged in and you dont get any lights on the battery or power indicator on the front of the laptop then you may need a replacement.
