- My DVD player gives message "No Disc" most of the time and it does not play any disc once it showed the message. But if starts playing upon opening, there will be no problem playing any disc.- GuestBest Solution

You have one of a few problems, One the spindle motor or the spindle motor circuit is bad. The laser assy is defective, as all cd/DVD players must focus on the disc before it will spin, or the platter or "hat" is off or out of alighnment. Most of these problems will not be worth repairing, as the cost of repairs will exceed the cost to replace. Good Luck
