Check Consistency is automatic and happens due to the controller seeing a HD going bad or is bad.

This will continue to happen until you replace the bad HD. You should be able to look into the logs of the controller and see what HD is causing the issue.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

on the hard drive carriers themselves there are LEDs that will be amber in color to indicate which drive has an issue. You can also install MegaRAID Storage Manager in Windows to view the status of the drives

Dell Poweredge 1800 megaraid Error

I'm glad to hear your using Linux. It sounds to me like you have bad sectors on your Hard Drive but I can't be sure from what you describe above. I need more info. Is it hda sdb or what? dev What? I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem. Most of the time a Linux server only goes down if there is a hardware malfunction. dev is a device. The question is what device.
