Question about Dishwashers

Hotpoint LFT114 Fully intergrated dishwasher. Hi I've just installed this machine and I find it very noisy compared to our old one. Everything seems to be working OK and dishes come out clean but can't explain the noise

Hi! noises can be very elusive, but some more info might give me enough to narrow down your search or figure out if what you are hearing is normal. First, what dishwasher did you have before? The noise that you are hearing, is it during the fill cycle, the wash cycle , drain cycle or just overall noisier than your old one

When my dishwasher finishes it no longer lets out 3 beeps and when you open the door there is no power even though the dishes are clean.

Hello J Arnott,

Sorry to say I'm here in the USA.. and I could not easily get a similarly designed model to reveal itself (for me) to gain a better understanding of your Hotpoint LFT114... (nor could I pull a FREE copy of your user manual (without registering or otherwise exposing myself to cyber-freaks (sorry)).

Regardless of the specifics.. suffice it to day your machine is NEW enough to be quite visible and relevant...
I looked over the LFT114 HA... Display board... £42.93
(there are many LFT114

And your trouble description was quite excellent in detailing
as SEQUENCE failure of your control modules...

Although it is possible to repair these things ... it seems you have several PCBs (printed circuit boards)... replacement is usually the first best GUESS (looking at the back () side would not hurt anything)...

I have rescued many a circuit board by simply "de-soldering"...
then re-soldering a connection...
(special care, skill & tools required... not tough nor expensive).

You description and troubles indicated the beeps & lights missing: is a clear indictment of your "DISPLAY board"...

A reminder... don't touch any PCB you value without first grounding your hands (professionals use STATIC WRIST STRAPS... CHEAP (unlike circuit boards) & available EVERYWHERE).

Also... Take lots of pictures of EXACTLY WHERE every wire comes from... (look them over BEFORE you get in trouble).
Be patient & FORCE nothing.

and of course... be safe (REMOVE POWER).

Comment me back BEFORE you guess wrong... (I'll try to help) .

Hi, I have a 10yr old Neff s5543 built-in dishwasher, it is has been working fine but recently has stopped fully draining. I have removed it from the housing and checked all pipe work is unblocked and...

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
Ok there are acouple of things that can be checked on this along with what you have already checked
Drain solenoid Beneath some dishwashers, there's a timer-activated drain solenoid (an electro-magnetic coil) that opens a drain valve, to drain the wash water through a hose and out to the house's plumbing waste system. If this is failing it will not allow the water to drain from the machine fully
Timer Dishwashers have a timer behind the main control panel at the front top of the dishwasher, or behind the lower access panel. It is either a mechanical device like a simple clock, or it's completely electronic with just a digital readout. The timer runs the dishwasher in a pre-determined pattern. It provides the electricity to all of the dishwasher components at the correct time, for the correct length of time.

My hotpoint LFT114 switches on, has all four wash cycles, has water but will not work even when the door is fully engaged. What could the problem be

G.E. motors (G.E. and Hotpoint) have an issue with the impeller seizing. Turn the electricity to the appliance off. Remove the lower front panel(s) to gain access to the motor and its impeller. Take a flat head screw driver and carefully insert it within the motor impeller area and try to turn the impeller clockwise. If stuck or hard to turn, keep trying until it loosens (turns freely). If it turns freely, activate the dishwasher and see if it works for you. If the motor impeller does not turn, contact an appliance service company.
