Question about Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for PC

ERROR CODE 106

Upon install process it makes it to about 0% then gives the following error code. ComponentMoveData had the following error:
media name: data
Componet: app_photoshop
file group: App_PS
file: pdfl50.dll
error number: -106 (refer to the online help)

Then when I click ok it shows this message:

An error occurred during the move data process: -106.

So when I hit ok it closes it all out.
I really need this software loaded and Adobe does not support this version anymore.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Error 106

Error 106 occurs when installing the programme
This might be down to a conflict with another programme, shut down all other applications when installing.
It can also be caused by a dirty or damaged CD installation disc, some files may not decompress correctly
You might find it is also caused by insufficient free disc space
Finally, make sure you have the latest net framework installed

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?DisplayLang=en&id=19

This version was compatible with Photoshop 7, but you might find you need a later version

How many times I click my windows media player, it didn't appear. I don't knnow why..!

Have you installed any third party players? Did you try to make any changes to the computer prior to this issue? Are you getting any error messages or error codes? You may try the following steps to rebuild the Windows Media Player Library database and check if it works. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK. 2. Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.
Note You do not have to delete the folders that are in this folder. 3. Restart Windows Media Player. If this does not resolve the problem, clear the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Exit Windows Media Player. 2. If you are running Windows Vista, click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK. 3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click Delete on the File menu. 4. Restart Windows Media Player. For more information, you may refer the following article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925718 You may try to install quicktime and then media player might use the codec to play .mov files. Note: Using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be solved. Using Third Party Software is at your own risk. You may refer the following link for more information:. http://www.apple.com/support/quicktime/ Convert music, videos, and pictures from one format to another http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Convert-music-videos-and-pictures-from-one-format-to-another File types supported by media center http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/File-types-supported-by-Windows-Media-Center Hope this information is helpful Good Luck

Getting an error 106 while installing adobe photoshop 7

Error Number 106 indicates that the installer cannot decompress a file. This can happen if the CD-ROM is dirty or damaged, if hard disk space is insufficient, or if the installer conflicts with an application or device driver.

Please clean your install disk with a lint-free cloth. If that still does not work, check to make sure you have the 280MB minimum hard disk space available.

Enternal error in media player

Try this:
  1. Download and run the WMP (Windows Media Player) update from Microsoft - click here to get it
  2. Follow the instructions, which will include a reboot.
  3. Try launching WMP.

If that doesn't work, try this:

  1. Go to your Control Panel and uninstall all media software in the list except for WMP. Some programs you're likely to find are Napster, Rhapsody, Real, RealPlayer, Quicktime etc. Get rid of them all. HOWEVER, if you're not entirely sure about a particular program, leave it alone.
  2. Also, uninstall Adobe Flash Player - Microsoft and Adobe are notorious for not playing nicely together! ;)
  3. Reboot
  • If, during the uninstall process of a particular programthe computer asks you to reboot to "complete the process," just click"No" (or "Cancel") and continue uninstalling the rest of the programs. I say this because you'll reboot in step 3, above. If, however, a particular program insists that you reboot, that's not a problem - just do it.
  • Also, because you've uninstalled programs like Quicktime or RealPlayer that various technologies rely upon, you'll be asked to reinstall them when you encounter the need for such technologies in the future (such as on the web, if you buy software, etc.). But don't worry because they all install quickly and easily.
If that doesn't work, try this:
  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Click "Security Center"
  3. Click "Windows Update"
  4. Click "Check for Updates"
  5. Install the updates, following the onscreen instructions.
  6. You'll need to reboot after the installs are complete.
If this doesn't work, you're probably missing drivers or there's a registry conflict. In this case, your best solution would be to system Restore by using the Restore disk that came with your system. But beware, if you restore your system and don't check the option to keep the data, you'll lose everything on your system that you, yourself, added - such as Word files, etc. Therefore, BACK UP YOUR DATA FILES BEFORE PERFORMING A SYSTEM RESTORE.

On some Restores, you're presented with the option to restore but keep your data files. Still, BACK UP EVERYTHING first.

Installing error code -106

what this suggests is that the files cannot be transfered to the hard drive because of either you havent the latest version of .net http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&DisplayLang=en, or you are low on hard drive space or afaulty disc. download from the above link first, then if still not installing try copying all the installation files across to your pc and try again, but check you have enough hard drive space.
