Telefunken analogue color TV model MP-A2055VT-H to connect up digital decoder set-top box. The TV only has an RF input. no other plugs. Searched all 80 channels and I cannot find an AV channel on the...

Hi,

The simplest solution would probably be the use of an RF Modulator. Feed the RF Mod with the A/V signals from the Conia CSTB12, set it to transmit on Ch 3 or 4, tune the Telefunken to either channel.

In most Telefunken TVs we have worked on, the A/V INput/OUTput would be on the SCART connectors as shown below.

To my understanding, a Conia CSTB12 as sold in Australia has a composite RCA (yellow) Video OUTput and L/R White/Red audio OUTputs. What would be needed would be a A/V signal to SCART adapter/converter.

If your Conia CSTB12 has an S-Video, then this may be used.
If your Conia CSTB12 has an HDMI, then something like this may be used.
Incidentally, should you be interested, there are comparable receivers to a Conia CSTB12 that has SCART OUTputs.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

What channel do i use to use the DVI entry?

None, channels are only on the tv source entry. The DVI is just another AV entry, to use it you just select it from the other AV sources.

No TV signal

If it's hooked to Dish network, you have a receiver to connect to the TV. If you're using the receiver's RF output on channel 3 or 4 to the TV's antenna jack, you need to have the receiver on while the TV is scanning or it won't add the receiver's output channel. You can rescan channels after you turn the receiver on. If the TV has AV input jacks and you're connecting the receiver that way, you need to switch the TV to the AV input. That may be difficult or even impossible without the TV remote.

MAY BE A GLITCH IN THE EPROM (MICRO) IN THE SET...HERE'S A QUICK FIX,,HOPE YOU ARE ON SATELLITE OR A CABLE BOX....TAKE SOME LONG AV CABLES AND TAKE THE SIGNAL "OUT" OF THE SAT OR CABLE BOX AND PUT THE OTHER END IN THE AV "IN" ON THE TV...NOW SELECT THE AV 1 (OR WHICHEVER ONE YOU USED) AND YOU WILL HAVE SOUND AND PICTURE AND YOU CHANGE CHANNELS USING THE SAT OR CABLE BOX---IF YOU DON'T HAVE THESE SIGNAL SOURCES ,,,YOU CAN ALSO USE A VCR AND CHANGE CHANNELS ON THE VCR--LEAVE THE TV ON AV1...TUNICA

I have no idea how to get channels to tune in.

In order to get a picture of what is going on you must understand what is happening. The cable box converts all channels to channel three or four depending on what it was intitially set on. That means that you have only one channel coming into the tv. So you cannot program the set. You just have to put the TV on Channel 3 or 4 and leave that alone. Do not try to program the TV. Then change the channels on the cable box. The hitch is that there are several ways to hook a cable box to your set. One is with the RF connector, which is the screw on one, into either Antenna A or B. and the other is through the AV cables which are yellow, red and white. Yellow for video, red for right audio and white for left audio. If your box is hooked to the AV input then you must use the INPUT button on the tv to select the proper AV input. On that set there are several.

I have lost the normal tv channels on all 3 of my TV's (bbc 1 bbc 2 itv channel 4 through the aerial) but freeview channel are still working on AV. any ideas?

If you have all 3 tv's in the one house and on the one antenna then it sounds like you have been subject to either a lightning strike or a large static discharge onto your antenna. What this means is that the tuner packs in the back of the tv's has been damaged and will need to be replaced. However as you have said in your question they do work using an av input. This will be your cheapest option to get them working again. Buy cheap vcr's for them and connect via av cables, as the tuner modules are expensive to buy and even more so to have fitted.

Philips tv Model 24RF50S141. I have lost all the AV input channels. Philips tell me that they have been lost from memory. Can anyone help me restore them?

I have solve the problem myself by going to channel install on the menu and advancing the channels with the right key on the channel line rather than using the channel up/down buttons. Which is partly my stupidity and the Tech at Philips failed to tell me. I was just racking my head and stated trying different things until I discovered the real solution. Besides at my age I have forgotten more things than ever learned!

Thanks for you interest!
