I connect my Xbox but it wont show on the TV?

I connect my Xbox to the Audio/video in inputs in fron of the TV but when I turn on my Xbox I cant see it on my TV. I put it in every channel and I cant see it. There are no extra inputs in the back just the cable one so I dont know what to do. I tried going to through the TV menu but nothing makes the Xbox show on the screen. I use to have a playstation hooked up to it and it worked but that was a while back so i dont remember what I did to fix it. I have tested the Xbox and that is not the problem and the TV is in great shape as well.

Right its early signs of the ring of death ! well it was 4 me anyway.
just give this a go because this is what made mine work
right... turn your xbox on, get 2 or 3 towels and cover up all the airholes on your xbox, leave it on for 20 mins so it will over heat.
this bizzarely solves the ring of death and it should make it work (as in see it on the screen)

I have to create a window live id and pay $50 online to get that same problem repaired. I dont understand why we should pay for something that is the manufacturer's fault entirely. Their goof up should be an easy fix up for us, not a hassle.

None of them are right, if its not your tv then altering your tv wont work
If you dont know whether its ur tv or the xbox, try using different tvs!
If its ur xbox, its cos the av fuse has bust, my suggestion is to try using the HDMI port - if you dont have capabilities to do this then you need to send it to microsoft for repair... or repair it yourself by buying an av fuse box replacement, but I wouldnt risk breakin it more.
Good luck!

My dynex tv only shows channel not available message?

Okay- the three cables (red, white, and yellow) are called RCA plug connectors. They are commonly used to carry audio and video signals.
Plug them into your Xbox according to the color codes- red cable connector to the red socket (jacks); then white to white, and yellow to yellow.
Now connect these leads to the RCA input jacks in the back of your t.v. - maintaining the same color code connections (red to red; white to white, and yellow to yellow)
The RCA input jacks on your t.v. should be labeled with an input number, to distinguish itself from the other inputs, like HDMI, S-Video, and such.
After plugging in your Xbox to the wall outlet or surge strip, turn it on.
Turn your t.v. set on.
With the remote control that came with your t.v. set, open the menu bar, scroll to... and open the "External Output" menu.
You should see a list of [however many] inputs your particular t.v has. Scroll to the input number that the 3 RCA cables are attached to, and press that number as the default video screen.
Exit the prompts and your Xbox video screen should be displayed.

How to connect xbox to jvc av-28gt1sjf

I assume that since you do not have remote you cannot choose another AV channel on your TV. If so you can use the RF input using a RF converter to AUDIO /VIDEO or if not the sky input must be shared through a VCR/DVD or multimedia/DTS amplifier

I have a toshiba rear projection tv 40inch model no 40pw13p, does anyone know how i connect the xbox 360 as i cant get any av channels up?

Hello:The xbox came with an audio and video cable, probably componet cables on one end, if you are going to use HDTV input which is the red/grn/blue cables on the end of you xbox plug them into the corresponding color in the back of the tv, also on your cable is a switch labeled HTDT and TV make sure the switch is in the HDTV mode if you are going to connect the componet cables if you are going to use regular video then make sure its in the other posistion. If you use componet cables you are going to use the red an white audio cables also a total of five cables should be connected to the TV. Some newer xboxs have hdmi output as well this is the better of the three connections as it also has audio and hd all on one cable. using your tv's remote switch the tv's input to the same input you connected your xbox to. HAPPY GAMING..

How do you connect a Xbox 360 into a Samsung Home Theatre System HT-Q9?

i think that is a "theatre in a box" and some of those dont have the right inputs for adding additional hardware such as an xbox. look at the back of the samsung,if it does not have an audio input you cant do if. if it does you will have to find the older style cable from your xbox to plug the audio into the samsung. if it has the right inputs, then hook em up and your done. if it only has the audio inputs you will have to take the video directly to the tv and choose the right input on the tv. then hook the audio input to the samsung.

I would check your video connections. If it is dark behind your TV, use a flashlight and make sure all of the audio and video connections are correct. Make sure the connections are firmly in place for your XBox and TV for the audio/video cable. Also, be sure to be on the right video setting on your TV (Video 1, Video 2, etc.).

Connecting my wii to my home theater

  1. Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.
  2. Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to your A/V HDMI input.
  3. Connect your A/V HDMI output to the HDMI input on your TV.
  4. Notes
  5. This option requires that all devices support audio over HDMI.
  6. Surround sound from your set-top box will not be passed through the Xbox One.
  7. When you perform this kind of basic setup with an A/V receiver, you're passing both audio and video through another device. Depending on your equipment, there's a small risk of audio or video lag.
  8. Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.
  9. Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to the HDMI input on your TV.
  10. Connect the audio output from the TV to the audio input on the sound bar using either HDMI or optical S/PDIF cables.

Xbox 360

There are a couple of options you can use.

Are your DVD and cable actually going to the Onkyo first and then to the TV? I am assuming it is, if you listen to the Onkyo when watching a DVD or cable.

The Onkyo receiver you have has 2 hdmi inputs and 1 hdmi output.

Does your Xbox360 have an hdmi output and that is what you want to connect to the Onkyo? Some do and some don't.

If your Xbox has a hdmi output and you are already using the 2 hdmi inputs on the Onkyo, you can not connect the Xbox using the hdmi, you have no more hdmi to connect to, so you must go thru one of the other inputs of the Onkyo.

The hdmi has the video and audio together, the other video options do not. you would need to run seperate audio cables as well.
Your Xbox should have a composite video (yellow RCA jack) output or a component video (1 red, 1 blue, 1 green RCA jack) output.

When you connect the Xbox thru, lets say the composite video of the Onkyo , you will also need to connect the audio from the Xbox to the Onkyo on the same input. It should be right next to the yellow RCA jack or right under it. They are 2 RCA jacks, one red and one white.

You will then need to connect the composite output of the Onkyo to the composite input of the TV.

When connecting like this, you will also need to select the composite input on your TV with your remote for your TV. Your TV should have an input button that lets you go thru all the different inputs to it.

you can also use the component video from the Xbox if it has that. But you must also run the audio to the Onkyo as well to the corresponding audio inputs of the component video input on the Onkyo.

This may sound a little confusing, but remember that the hdmi has the audio and video in one cable, the other video options do not, so you must run additional cables for the audio to the Onkyo from the Xbox.

Also remember whichever video you use from the Xbox to the Onkyo, you must also run that same video from the Onkyo to the TV and then switch the TV over to that input when you want to watch the Xbox on the TV

Your tv could have a losse connection on the video input. Try moving it around to see if you get any picture. Either that or u need a new audio video cord for your console
