I have an old Samsung TXE 2746 and this week, when I turn the tv on, the picture is fuzzy and it seems like it's not connecting to the cable. I have to turn the tv on and off repeatedly before the station comes in.

Re: have to turn tv on and off to get picture
Timing crystals can turn to trash on you, if not their tuning circuits. Try subbing in a new crystal or resettable oscillator to see if it perks right up as far as tuning. There's usually a few electrolytes (.5 uf timing drift capacitors) around there to test at frequency or swap out at little cost if that fails.

have you tried physically unplugging the unit from the wall. wait 2 minutes. this resets the microprocessor computer part of the tv. then plug it back in. fixed. the computer is confused. unplug. plug back in
Hello: Your problem seems to be in or around the tuner of the television, More then likely you have cold solder joints on the turner that needs to be resoldered. Also check the coax end protruding from the back of the set where u connect the cable and make sure it is not loose, a bad ground on this connector to the turner shield will cause this symptom. My professional diagnostic is that when the television is cold the solder connections are making contact with the board, and as heat builds up in the television while watching these connections tend to seperate and make limited contact, causing fuzzy picture and in most cases no picture just snow...
The front inputs aren't viewed on a "channel". You would have to press the "Source", "input", or "TV/Video" button to access the front input. On rare occasion you can press 00 on the remote to get there or go to channel 1 and press "channel down" but not always.
I would suggest to unplug the tv from the wall for about 15 minutes and then plug it back in,and turn it on,this should reset the microprocessor and realign the colors back to normal.let Us know how it goes and if you need more help.
Right, but the problem is more likely the tuner unit-which the coaxial is hooked up to. If it was strictly the coax, when you wiggled the cable around, the image would probably come back fine. Youll have to get a tuner and solder out the old one, the solder in the new one. The tuner for your model is part QAU0305-001 found here: http://www.jvcservice.com/service/JMdlPrtXrf.asp?PgReq=DspDta&MdlNbr=AV-32432
Be aware that the problem could be as simple as a diode or cap...until it can be tested we don't know for sure. techman would probably know more about this model than I would.
