Recently i have moved my Harmon Kardan AVR 5000 when shifting my residence. Upon switching on the system, the Input Source and the Output Source do not display on the display panel. The system is not responding at all. I had connected my DVD player and the speakers including the Sub exactly the same way as it was earlier. I had tried all possible trouble shooting looking at the manual and also done a system reset, but the problem still remains.
I have connected my JBL Speaker+Sub and JVC DVD Player to the receiver.
Sounds like the setup info got scrambled in the receiver. Re-program the TV input...from optical or coax or whatever way it is going into the receiver.

Nope. You get one component OUTPUT (monitor) and two component INPUTS (Vid 2/DVD) but no HDMI video output.
If you can input and switch HDMI video directly at your display from your cable/SAT etc. you should be fine, just run all the audio through the AVR-25 through the coaxial/optical digital inputs, L/R analog RCA or the 5.1 direct inputs.
Hi if there is an optical out on the television i would use that direct to your Harmon Kardon AVR 125, the sound would be in sync with picture, as the source is the same.
Use your remote to get into the Menu. Look for something called audio, or audio properties. In there you can choose your inputs (sources) and output choices.
On the remote itself, there should be a button called input, or source. That would be for things input to the TV.....such as dvd, vcr.
Ensure that your speakers are connected to the terminals that you have your speaker selector switch turned to. Then check that you have your device, whether it be a CD or DVD player, or turntable, plugged into the correct input and that you also have the correct input selected on the receiver.
Please disconnect all speaker, input wires and unplug the AVR from the mains. Wait 5 minutes and restart without connecting any cables.
If it starts , you are lucky. You might be required to reset the microprocess, if any.
Now unplug and start connecting the wires. Please ensure that you are not touching the wires with the AVR or with each other.
Hope fully .... you will be able to enjoy your HT.
Let me know if the above doesnot work.

You need to have an input audio source on your receiver such as a DVD player or ipod. The radio is an internal source that is why yo uare hearing sound from it. One thing you could do is run a cable from the audio out jacks on your television to an input on the receiver, and then when you are watching TV select the input you put the cables in to hear the television sound through your receiver speakers.
