Freezing computer after loading security cd.

My partner put a nortons security cd in the laptop and loaded it on. Now the computer will not do anything and keeps freezing. I cannot seem to take it off.
Is there any other way I can fix this.

Start your computer in SAFE MODE and remove the norton.

To do that >> Turn off your computer >> turn on ...and before windows loading hit F8 and select SAFE MODE

How do I install XP on my Inspiron 1545 that is running Vista? I have the discs

Go into BIOS and make sure you boot from disk cd/dvd rom

if you have another computer go to Dell and download all of the drivers for your computer(inspiron 1545) and put them on a USB flash drive (e.g - ethernet, sound, bios update, etc.)

IF you do not want to save any data boot from your XP cd.

The cd will load and it will ask you some questions "install xp" F8 agree. Then it will check for current operating systems. If you have a large hard drive larger than 100 gigs I would partition the hard drive into two or more smaller sections. For XP I would Recommend 40-60 gigs (40960 = 40 gigs - 1024*40). This way--if you have a problem with the OS in the future you can load the OS again without loosing your data as long as you put your data on the other partition (changing the paths on my computer, my pictures, my music, etc.). Then, once the OS is loaded you need to update the OS, get a free antivirus (Microsoft security essentials - put on flash drive), and install any programs you may have or want. Takes some time but this is how to do it if you do not have a clone. Also, check out CCleaner this fixes registry problems, clears cache and more to help your computer run faster. If you have any more question let me know.

I hope this helps!!!

I purchase a Internert Security 2011 Norton 1 year protection for up to 3 pc i download norton's on my reg lap top and my desktop, How do i down load this norton 2011 on my notebook computer this would be...

If you mean how do you load the Norton's on your Netbook? That means you don't have access to usb CD/DVD drive. You can go to Norton's website from the Netbook and download the 2011 trail software then when it asks you to upgrade to full version you can add the product key for the third PC. This has worked for me.

Samsung mini laptop n148. Windows Xp pro is installed. I installed Norton Ghost v 15 and made recovery for my drive C. When I boot with the Norton Ghost recovery cd, it boots well untill it reaches 20% of...

It sounds to me that unfortunately you have an error on your recorded CD and there will be nothing you can do to repair that.
The installation of Norton should not cause the problem itself an error on the hard drive will usually cause that problem.

My Sony Vaio CS Series laptop keeps freezing it loads fine and then I run norton and it just freezes and i have to keep restarting and it is a continuous cycle.. what do i do?

look`s like you have a virus problem try reinstalling your operating sistem much better than restoring with microsoft app because all viruses go there so use recovery cd to fix that

My disk loader will not run the 360 norton. please help. other cds work on it but the norton360 will not there a way to fix it.without paying a whole lot of money for it?

honestly Nortons 360 is not what you want to load on your computer anyways... I am an IT Tech and I get a lot of business because of this program. A good security/virus program is one called AVAST and it is free as long as you are a home user. Try it out. Another thing...sometimes a computer will not allow any anti-virus programs to be loaded when they have certain trojans or worms. Just a thought.

Load Error! Press a key to reboot

If the computer after power on is checking the drives ie the CD and/or floppy to boot from then it is a software problem. You need to put in your recovery CD/disk and hope fully it will allow you to just fix the errors within the boot up files and not have to install os.

Your norton could help - try booting from that or the ones you produced by using Norton.

If you have to reload then do not format just save old - it should give you that option.
