Burning DVD files that do not play

I customarily burn DVD (.iso) files on my IMAC and can then play them on the computer and on TV. When I burn the same files on my new MacBook, the DVD also plays fine on the computer but will not play on TV???
Please advise. Thanks. LH

Within the softare that you use for burning, before you actually choose to burn you should have two options, one option is to burn so your computer and most other dvd/computers can recognise it, or two burn so only your computer can recognise it. (It's a security thing.) Check this setting. When you insert a blank dvd into your drive and open the software, choose dvd then look at the screen for the options that it gives you.

What's the difference between burning a cd and burning an image

Burning an image file (ISO) means that you will burn and finalize the disc. The ISO file includes a "boot sector". This will create a disc that can be used as a boot CD. Make sure that the ISO is <700 MB if you burn to CD; if it is larger, use a DVD or DVD DL. Some image files may have an IMG file type (this was the file type for bootable floppies). Unless the file is an ISO or IMG, the burn image function will not work. You will need to use another program to make an image file first. You may need to use a bootable disc to get the information for the boot sector.

Burning a CD creates a data CD which may or may not be finalized, depending on your settings.

I hope this helps.

I need find a free windows vista home premium disk for my laptop

Download the Windows Vista startup disk .ISO file. A .ISO file is a "disk image" file, meaning that it is a compressed archive of all the files that would normally be found on a CD contained in one simple file. Microsoft does not provide users with an official Windows Vista startup disk. Because of this, a number of services online provide their own for users free of charge. Download the .ISO (see Below) file to your computer's desktop. http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/download-windows-vista-x64-recovery-disc/ Put a blank DVD in your computer's DVD writer. Open your DVD burning program. As long as your program can burn .ISO files, you can use any software you'd like. Burn the .ISO file to a DVD by selecting the "File" menu, clicking on "Open" and locating the .ISO file from your hard drive. Next, click the "Burn" button in your DVD burning software and the files contained in the .ISO will be burned to the disk. Label your Windows Vista startup disk with a pen or marker and keep it in a place where you won't lose it. If your computer is damaged to the point where you would need a startup disk, you won't be able to use your computer to make one. It is very important that you do not lose this disk.

I can not record a ISO image in my GH22N550

Try using this software, Image Burn. It works for me every time. I gave up on all others. This program will burn ISO's to ISO's, it will burn ISO's to Boot Disks, it will make files into ISO's, it does it all.

Also, just to clear up the term, when you burn a ISO you are generally trying to make a bootable disk, you are not actually burning the ISO, but expanding and burning the files onto a CD or DVD that you will use to install something on another computer.

I suggest that you install the latest firmware update to resolve the issue. Please click here to download the latest firmware update.
It is recommended to use CD -R disc to create the firmware update disc. I hope you're clear with downloading the update from support page. Once you download and save the file in the folder in the computer, you can double click the file to extract. You will be prompted to save the UPDATE_BDPS300_VER0550.ISO file in a folder.
Most of the customers will be making mistake here after .. We need to use a burning software which is capable to burning discs from ISO images. ISO image is nothing but a RAW format of burned image.
I will give you the instructions to burn using Nero.. Steps will be almost same in all ISO capable software. Open installed nero software from computer. You may locate it under Start Menu programs. Go to File Menu (Some times you will get a wizard where you can select the Image Burning option or burn ISO option) Navigate the extracted .ISO file we saved in the computer. follow the onscreen instructions. Insert the disc when ever Nero asked to insert
Hope this helps. If you need any assistance. Please get back to me. I will be more than happy to assist you. Thanks for understanding.

When using CDBurnerXp burning DVD video's from ISO files, the resulting DVD often does not play properly on a DVD player. Sometimes the sound breaks up, sometimes the picture pixelizes like interference,...

I haven't used that particular program, but I've made hundreds of DVDs. The first rule is to use good brand name media, I recommend Verbatim. Pixelation is a sign of poor quality media quality.
Give it a try with Verbatim disks.
