Place another CD in the tray one that works you know works if it recognizes it possibly it is the CD that you are trying to insert is bad or broken. So try any other one a movie disc that works if it picks it up that would be my first thought if it does not then you may need a new CD-RW burner for the lap top they are not that expensive. This does happen I have changed a few of them out myself. John
Hi... This is lens problem.. Clean the lens using cleaner disc. and make sure that the dvd/cd rom icon is present inside the My Computer. if not then go to Control Panel->System->Hardware-Device Manager->enable the dvd/cd drive.... Thank you...
did you try a dvd cleaner some times the laser inside gets dirty and then it will not work if this does not work try a different dvd player in it a little serect is to try a different one always if still does not work might have to redownload the drivers for your computer on your computers website ..
Hi, in my experiance 99 times out of 100, it's the CD/DVD gone kaput! sorry... they seem to be rather delicate devices and fail for often NO apperant reason. I suggest ya take it to a reputable "PC Guy" Get a FIRM QUOTE, and replace the unit. If ya tech savy then buy a new unit and replace it, it is REAL simple to do so ya self, usually the sorta "Plug In" I bet that solves ya problem.. :)
