Thanks I'll go right to the Radio Shack and Walmart. Or maybe even all the stores that provide Samsung products. Thanks alot, the http://www.samsungcamera.com/customer/vo... were no help because I have no receipt for this since it was a present from my dad and he would kill me if he found out that I broke my camera, especially since he bought it just a few months ago. He also keeps all the receipt of everything he buys my siblings and I.

Will hope this works because Xmas is around the corner and he expects me to bring my camera with me for the holidays.

    Thanks alot,

There is a possibility that the shutter on the actual camera is damage (this is true if you cant see any physical damage on the lens)

you can have the lens assembly repaired or replace by an authorized samsung technician or in house techs from Radio Shack, Circuit City and even walmart.

you may also have Samsung repair it.

http://www.samsungcamera.com/customer/voc/cus_voc_insert.asp

please do take note, sometimes camera repair may cost more than a new camera...

hope this helps, if you have other questions just lemme know.

Your flex cable to the Iris is broken. Have a look at my gallery at http://www.pbase.com/barry_2718/efs1785mm I have the same symptoms. At 28 or 35mm it make work ok. try Av mode and f8 aperture to see if you get an err01 because the aperture does not move either.

Lens are stuck out. screen says "lens error"

There could be two things causing this problem.

1- some dirt somehow got on the outside of side of the lense. So the lense could not fully retract or open out. As a result you can not take any picture. If the lense comes out even a little bit, try to pull it out NOT too hard a few times. If it does not retract, turn the camera off and push the lense in (up and down) NOT too hard for a few times. If the camera opened up 100% or retracted 100%, your camera should be back to normal. Make sure to clean the outside of the lense when fully open and keep it clean always. If this did not help, read 2.

2- If you dropped the camera, some mechanical part of the lense is broken or dislocated or the cable may have come loose. In this case you need to take out the lense from the camera and inspect it for broken pieces or loose cable. clean the outside of the lense and push the lense in and out a few times. Put the lense back on the camera and your camera would be back to normal.

Good luck!!!!!!

If you can play back images ok ( colour & resolution normal ) but in capture mode you have no image then the CCD sensor in your camera is faulty. Replace.
