Question about Computers & Internet

WMP11 issue I figured it out, at least for my computer....my Logitech wireless mouse. I wasn't using it and the WMP stopped popping up and the volume stopped muting on and off. When I used the mouse again....bingo! I have another wireless mouse working and it's not happening anymore. I was going to go into my add/remove programs section to try to delete and reinstall the logitech software, but I can't see it anywhere......do you know where it might be? I have seen many posts on the internet concerning this issue with the WMP opening over and over, so maybe you can help others in the future....

Well, Congratulations! I'm glad to hear its all straightened out.

I think Logitech makes some pretty solid equipment. I've never had any problem with their products; they seem to last forever. However, sometimes their drivers do seem to be a little buggy.

Their Harmony remotes are beyond belief for cntrolling multiple devices. I must have given away about 5 of them over the last few Christmases. Everyone who received them, cant seem to thank me enough. There are a lot of good sales on the net. They are too expensive to buy locally.

Oops, I got a little side tracked.....

Anyway, if you're not planning on using the Logitech mouse, I would recommend disconnecting it. If it is USB then just disconnect it. If it is PS2, you should shut down your computer first, then unplug it.

If you need to reinstall the software, you can download it from their web site.

If you experience any more strange anomolies, try running CCleaner with the default settings for both the Cleaner module and Regisrty Module. Its a great piece of freeware and is used by users and sys-admins alike.

Will Wireless pci card pkw-wmp11-v27 driver windows 7 driver work for windows xp

Hi
The following link takes you to the wmp-11 page on the linksys website.
http://support.linksys.com/en-eu/support/adapters/WMP11
The User guide doesn't mention Win7 at all, but since this webpage has various links to details for your kit, I would suggest that rather than trying to use a Win7 driver with XP, download the proper XP driver from this site and use this. It'll probably save time and frustration!!!
Cheers

Clicking issues on logitech wireless mouse

  • 1 Use the mouse on the same side of the computer where the Logitech USB transmitter is attached so there is a clear signal between the transmitter and the mouse.
  • 2 Check the USB transmitter that comes with the Logitech mouse to be sure it is correctly plugged into the computer. The red LED should be illuminated on the transmitter if it is connected properly. If not, the signal cannot reach the wireless mouse.
  • 3 Turn the mouse upside down to check the on/off switch. Be sure it is switched on.

  • 4 Check the battery compartment by sliding the top housing off the mouse to confirm the rechargeable batteries are installed correctly.
  • 5 Charge the batteries if the mouse LED does not illuminate. The charger cord plugs into the front end of the mouse and the other end connects to a free USB port on the computer.
  • 6 Clean the desk surface or other flat area if the mouse is not tracking. The problem could be dirt or grease interfering with the tracking ability of the device.
  • 7 Open the Logitech software called SetPoint, which manages the mouse, to troubleshoot button functions. Open the program by double-clicking SetPoint from the list of software on the computer, then click "Mouse Settings." Click the "My Mouse" tab and check (or uncheck) all the task boxes that are desired for operating different mouse functions, then click "Apply" and "OK."

Logitech mouse frozen up we changed batterys in

If the mouse is freezing up though the batteries are fully charged, here's what you need to do:

    1. Try to use different batteries just to make sure that it's not a power issue.
    2. Connect the wireless USB dongle into different USB ports of the computer.
    3. Try to connect the USB dongle in different computer and try to use the mouse (to make sure that it's not a computer issue).
    4. Make sure that there's no cordless phone, cell phone and other wireless devices that might interfere the wireless signal.

The Logitech wireless mouse is running on 2.4MHz frequency, same frequency as the other wireless devices. Any wireless device might cause the mouse to freeze.

If same problem occur, then it's a hardware problem. Contact Logitech and RMA the mouse.

    Thank you and good luck!

Thats an ongoing issue with the WMP11.
I suggest getting software like NERO.
You can also get rid of WMP11 and get an older version.
    let me know ASAP.

Sansa Clip 2GB...WMP11 will recognize, but will not list in device pane in Sync mode...

Hah, figured it out! Had to roll back my version of WMP, which can simply be done by (in XP) going to Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs, and then click on WMP11 in the program list. Click remove, and it will ask if you want to roll back to the previous version of Windows. Click yes, and it will roll it back to the previous version of WMP11. Now, assuming you have an active internet connection, after you restart your computer, it will ask if you want to update your WMP. Click yes, and it will re-install the version you started out with, replacing drivers, .dlls, and anything you were missing before hand. Long story short, the solution was patching the holes in the program. I can now plug my Sansa Clip 2GB into the USB port, and WMP will recognize it right away (I can almost hear a small voice from inside my computer saying "would you like tea with that, mr. guy?" hah). I also found out you can have more than one media player connected at the same time! How cool is that? Great if you're trying to set up multiple players with the same playlists (promotional type stuff, business type stuff, etc.).

Go Gear is not recognized by computer

You must roll back to WMP 10 - this device is completely incompatible with WMP11 - instructions are on both the Philips and Microsoft websites

    After rolling back to 10:
disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

    Mouse stops responding randomly

The issue may not necessarily be with the mouse. Are you able to use the keyboard once the mouse freezes? If you not even able to use the keyboard, there is some application installed on your computer or a virus due to which the mouse freezes. If, in case, the keyboard works even though the mouse is stuck, try changing the USB port or try a different mouse. Please revert back with any other observations. Good Luck
