A guess; maybe you are scanning Cable channels while on air? So, if you don't have cable TV conected, it won't pick any channel.

Have just retuned digital terrestrial receiver Matsui DTR -2 for our area, how do I now record tv programmes with my Bush VCR925NSILXI? On analogue TV the recording channel was Channel 9

Recording, amazingly, has nothing to do with your TV, it only monitors the playback or recording input of your VCR or DVD recorder - the Channel 9 you mention.
They have their own tuners, indeed DVD recorders have Freeview (or DTV) tuners so no need for a separate box at all - given that your TV has a DTV tuner too and if a recent flat screen type it will.
If you can afford it, this is a good time to drop VHS and get a DVD recorder. You'll find plenty on Amazon Electronics for a start.
Your Bush VCR will be redundant the moment the analogue service goes off, they haven't made a VHS VCR with a DTV tuner.
Depending on your area this is a few months off, even for the last area to change over anyway, here in London there's just shy of nine months left.

I have a Scientific Atlanta 3250HD cable box that loses sound everytime a channel is changed. The box must be rebooted to get the sound back each time. I have no problems with the 4250HD boxes. Any...

Did you call Scientific Atlanta to find out if this could be a software issue in their box, or if there is a failure occurring?
I have had cable boxes do similar things to what you are describing. It turned out to be the box was defective and had to be changed. They were not serviceable. I believe these cable boxes were made by Scientific Atlanta.

It seems so simple, but in desperation I rebooted the cable box. Picture is now as it should be.

Scan No Longer Working

Do you have Verizon? The problem you are having is a long standing issue with Verizon. It was recently corrected for some of us. Certain TV's could not receive QAM channels, because of a Verizon caused issue. They blamed the TV manufacturer and the manufacturer blamed Verizon.
My TV's are Sharps, but I recall Vizio as also having the problem. Although it was fixed in my area MA, and in the Philadelphia area, other areas are still reporting the issue My problem disappeared shortly after the recent channel realignment.
Here is a link to a lengthy thread on the subject at the AVS forum;

Find Repair Person for 32" Olivea TV in Atlanta GA area

Try here: and see if you get any better results... When you speak to the tech have the model number available it will help tremendously. Olevia is a VERY difficult set for parts and support, kinda like Nexus, Vizio, Polaroid and a few others... Might have been a bit cheaper initially but they're not so well supported and you may not find a tech that wants to take-on a real headache...
Good Luck!

Green noise in black areas of picture

I'm sure you all thought of this but if someone does not state the easy fix then the easy fix doesn't get done.
I had the same thing happen to my Sam46inch1081, it just started doing it, no slow fade in over time.
I have cable with the HD box, all I did to fix it was unplug the power from the back of the hdbox, wait a few seconds plug power back in and have it reboot. Problem was solved.
Like I said, easy fix for me, don't know if this will help you, but ya never know.
Just thinking out loud here but maybe its not your tv but some other equipment you have added to it other than the hdbox.
