Check engine ON related with evap sistem corolla 2003

You need a Catalytic converter and possibly a Evap. cannister

The check engine light can be anything from a faulty o2 sensor to a evap problem. i would recommend taking it to auto zone and havinf it scanned for free. if it is a small evap leak, you may not have gotten the gas cap tightened down the last time you fueled your car. The light wioll not go out until it is reset. Once you get it scanned you will know more.

maybe you have a solenoid issue.

the evap purge solenoid may be bad or you have a leak in the lines or you have a pressure sensor issue.

Clear the code and hope its only intermittant.

this will cause no drivability concerns. just need to address it when you have funds.

This indicates that a part of the EVAP control system is no longer fuctioning correctly. The EVAP system consists of many parts, including (but not limited to) the gas cap, fuel lines, carbon canister, purge valve, and other hoses. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine
is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.

if the light went off on its own. then the necessary criteria for the light being on has come back in to the allowable tolerances. if you can pull the history code, i can help you out. possible you got gas recently? check engine light will illuminate for a loose gas cap causing evap system malfunctions

P0446= Evap Control Sys Vent Ckt Malfunction

OBD II 300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

When the misfire monitor detects a misfire, it will trigger the check engine light with the specific cylinder number as the last digit in the P030X code. For instance cylinder 1 misfire is P0301, cylinder 2 is P0302 etc. In this case we have either multiple cylinders misfiring, or the computer simply can't determine the specific cylinder, and as such we are left with the P0300 in computer memory.

Possible Causes:

Fuel injectors, related wiring, sensors and computer issues
Running out of gas, or poor fuel quality
Evaporative emissions system (EVAP) concerns: fuel vapors leaking into engine
Incorrect Fuel Pressure
EGR system concerns: leaking EGR valve or restricted ports
Base engine concerns: low compression, valve train problems and timing issues
Ignition system concerns including, but not limited to:
Faulty spark plugs
Faulty coil or related wiring
Ignition module or related wiring issues
Ignition related sensor faults or wiring issues

Then take it to the dealer since it is under warantee. EVAP codes are serious enviormental. Manufactors normally dont want those getting out.

have you had a diagnostic code check? if not i'd start there. it sounds like it might be a oygen sensor, but before spending money on it, it really should have a diagnostic test to tell you exactly whats causing the problem.

you may need to change the actual charcoal canister that is what turned my check engine light off..
