Question about Candy CPCA250K Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

3 Answers

Temperature adjustment I have had trouble getting a good temperature. Vegetables froze; now meats/dairy are going off before "use by" dates. Please confirm which is the colder setting, the low numbers (1, 2, etc.) or higher numbers, 4 or 5. Also, is temp. in freezer controlled by the same control dial as the fridge, i.e., the dial in the fridge itself? Thanks. Ron

I have kept my refrigeration side control to 37 and freezer to 0 but the milk and vegetables etc. all freeze in the refrigeration and the indicator goes down to 20 or 25 but never rises to what is has been set (37). What could be the problem?

Place a Piece of tape over the Hole in the back left corner of the fridge compartment. You may have to poke a small hole or two in the tape to acheive the desired tempurature.

Generally the freezer temp is the REAL temp of the unit. Fans, dampers and manual control levers let some of that cold freezer air into the refer compartment to cool it. Check your owners manual for damper operations if you have one. If you have a refer temp control all that does is control a damper to let the cold freezer air into the compartment. Also make sure you don't block off any of those vents in the refer or freezer compartment or bad air circulation can occur.

Food does not seem to be cooking properly. Did a pork roast and it came out dry and tough. Make tortelli soup and the celery and carrots were still hard.

you might need to freeze your meats if you have then you need to probably go with a different temperature on your oven by setting it to 350 degrees instead of 450 that could probably be why the meat is overcooking always baste your meat in juices from the meat use a turkey baster that can help or add more water to your meat and vegetables that takes more time for the meat to cook but the product will come out more juicer.

What should a Hotpoint fridge temperature be?

Your Hotpoint fridge is designed to operate at a temperature ranging from 0.5 degrees in the coldest part up to 5 degrees inthe warmest part.

As warm air rises and cold air falls it is safe to say that the best way to store your food is to place it in the most appropriate shelf compartment, as shown in the diagram below.

  • Zone A - Cool Dairy Products, Cheese, Butter, Margarine, Low Fat Spreads, Cooking Fats/Lards, Preserves, Jams, Curs, Marmalade, Salad Dressing or Sauces
  • Zone B - Colder General Food Storage

Need a owners manual for the 34" propane smoker great outdoors smokey mountain smoker

The truth is that the user manual/instruction for your propane smoker is not available anywhere online. The manufacturers of this unit did not make it available. I went further searching and couldn't find any.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer of this unit via phone or e-mail and request for the instruction/user manual from them. They might give it to you or direct you to a dealer where you can get the instruction/user manual.

This is the best you can do to get the instruction/user manual you are requesting for. Go to the propane smoker's website, check "Contact Us" and you would see their e-mail and phone number.

Below are some instructions that may help you with your propane smoker;

Set Up the Tank

The first thing to do in using your propane smoker is to connect the propane tank to the smoker. Open its valve by turning it in a clockwise direction. Next, you need to locate the wood chip box. Fill the box with any wood that you prefer, like hickory, mesquite or oak.

The wood chips when lit produce a smoky flavor that is absorbed by the food in the propane smoker. Each type of wood produces its own distinct flavor. Remember to soak the wood chips for at least an hour before using them so that they do not burn quickly. Soaking the wood chips also helps to create more smoke inside the propane smoker.

Fill the Water Box

After filling the wood chip box, you need to fill up the water box of the propane smoker. It is usually located right above the wood chip box. You can fill the water box with water or with sand. You can leave it empty, but it is best filled with water because the evaporation during the cooking process keeps the food from getting dry and tough.

When cooking with a propane smoker, moisture is important. Keep adding water when the level in the box is low. To add more flavor to your food, you can also add spices and seasonings to the water.

Cooking Time

The propane smoker is almost ready. All that is left to do is turn on the smoker and adjust the temperature. Most models have a rotary dial that controls the level of temperature in the smoker. The temperature depends on the type of food that will be cooked.

You should use a higher temperature for thick slices of meat and a lower temperature for thin slices of meat or for vegetables. Once you see smoke coming out of the smoker, it is time to put in your meat or vegetables. Cooking time depends on the kind of food being cooked and the thickness of the meat being smoked.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.

I havent used this microwave before. Can you please give me step by instructions on how to cook a roast beef and vegetables

If this microwave is a convection oven, you don't give make or model, treat as a fan assisted oven. 20 minutes per pound and 20 minutes extra for the meat, veg is best microwaved for a few minutes except potatoes, put them in the dish with the meat. Cover to stop splashing and set temperature to 190 Celcius 370 in proper temperature.
I am getting hungry now!

I have a GE side by side refrigurator model Gss201epc ww serial Tf220054 and am having a problem with stuff freezing in the crisper, I do not see any type of adjustment any ideas here? Thanks

initially, set the refrigerator compartment control at 5 and the freezer control at 5 and allow 12 hours for the temperature to stabilize.
Several adjustments may be required. Adjust the controls one increment at a time, and allow 12 hours after each adjustment for the refrigerator to reach the temperature you set.

Adjustable Humidity Crispers and Snack Pan (on some models)
Slide the control all the way to the High setting to provide high humidity recommended for most vegetables.
Convertible Meat Pan (on some models)
The convertible meat pan has its own cold air duct to allow a stream of cold air from the freezer compartment to flow around the pan.
The variable temperature control regulates the air flow from the freezer compartment.
Slide the control all the way to the Low setting to provide lower humidity levels recommended for most fruits.

Icecream not staying froze meat stays frozen though

Meat is always more dense than frozen dairy product. This soft ice cream issue usually occurs when the circulating fan becomes blocked due to overloading.
Unlike a chest type freezer, top mounted freezers use a fan to circulate to the refrigerator. If the return vents to the freezer become blocked by too many small items, or loose plastic bags the compressor may run too long in an attempt to lower the refrigerator temp,
This may cause the compressor to heat up and kick in the overload safety, further dropping the total temperature.
