Lenovo T60 interfacing with Vizio HDTV using RGB cable

I am having trouble interfacing my Lenovo T60 with ATI X1400 graphics card to my Vizio 50" Plasma HDTV (1366*768 resolution) using RGB cable. After 3-4 minutes of displaying properly on TV, TV report no signal and the picture moves to the laptop lcd screen. Many times picture keeps flpping between HDTV and Laptop screens and sometime laptop crashes.

I have similar troubles connecting this laptop to a 24" monitor @ 1920X1200 resolution.

The X1400 supports Full-HD resolution. Full-HD/True-hd (1920x1080)
The best output would be via DVI but you are limited with the VGA port.
I would purchase a Grand Hi-Wire PC to HDTV converter from www.globalcomputer.com. Item # G126-1036 @ $139.99

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Trouble with install second video card HD 5450 to emachines t6532

Unclear of your statement. (More like run-on sentence)

Problem heading statement reads,
"trouble with install second video card HD5450 TO eMachines T6532"

Need clarification

The eMachines T6532 Desktop PC uses an MSI MS-7207 motherboard.
Also known as the MSI K8NGM2-L,

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K8NGM2-FID--IL--L.html

(Click on photo for a better image)

Has one long white PCI Express x16 slot. (Expansion Slot)
Only uses one graphics card at a time, will Not use two.

[Graphics card / Video card. Same/same]

Therefore I surmise you are not referring to adding a Second graphics card, but are referring to;

A) This is the second time you have added a graphics card.

Or,

B) This is the second ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card.
Had one before. Removed it, and are using a new one.

Or,

C) This is the second time you have added a graphics card.
It is not an ATI Radeon HD5450 like the old one is.

Know this;
1) You can ONLY use the OnBoard (Integrated) graphics,
OR the graphics card.
You CANNOT use both.

When using a graphics card the monitor is plugged into it.
You cannot plug into the onboard graphics of the motherboard, with it installed in the computer.

Said differently;
With the graphics card physically installed in the computer, you cannot just unplug the monitor from the graphics card; and plug it into the OnBoard graphics of the motherboard.

[Also; Computer on, you CANNOT unplug a monitor, and plug it back in.
This = NO ]

2) Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device.

The device is the graphics card.
The version of Windows operating system was not stated.

Did you install the software from the Installation Disk? (CD/DVD)
Has the drivers on it, and the user interface software.
User interface software for an ATI graphics card, is Catalyst Control Center.

(Just to note; I'm using a Powercolor Radeon HD5450 graphics card, right now.
I'm using dual monitors.

HP 2009M - 20 inch widescreen LCD monitor, and an RCA L26HD31 HDTV as the main monitor. (26 inch HDTV)
They work GREAT! ]

(It is an ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card just like yours, IF yours has 1GB of graphics memory.

Doesn't matter what graphics card manufacturer, makes that HD5450, it is still an ATI (AMD) design.

Powercolor, VisionTek, Sapphire, Diamond Multimedia, Mickey Mouse, or Goofy. It is still an ATI graphics card )

The ATI Radeon HD5450 graphics card, has to have a MINIMUM power requirement of 350 Watts.
Does your power supply have 350 Watts or more?

If it is the original power supply, the answer is NO.

Back then power supply manufacturers were 'fudging' the true maximum rated wattage.
Why?

Sold more power supplies.

Power supply rated at 250 Watts?
Nope.
More like 60 to 70 percent of that.

Divide 250 by 10.
= 25.
Take that times 6. = 150 Watts (60 percent)
Times 7 = 175 Watts (70 percent)

Would like your opening statements clarified.
Post back in a Comment.

Hi..... I have a Fujitsu Lifebook N6410 dual core at 1.9 GIG with an ATI mobility X1400...can I Just upgrade the vide card to an X1600...or in your gifted opinion is it not worth the trouble?" ...

As with most laptops it is not possible to remove the graphics card since it is normally soldered onto the motherboard. Whether this is the case for your laptop or not, it will probably not be worth the trouble for such a small upgrade. If you are having troubles playing games I would suggest getting a new laptop or possibly a desktop since they are much easier to upgrade.

Hello xvanpersiex, these are "Full Specifications" of your [Graghis Card].
"Check this to the 'Specs' of the "Motherboard to see if it 'Supports' the Graphic Card?"
"Try 'disconnecting, and reconnecting' the "Graphis Card"
Verify that 'all' the "Connections" are "Tightly Inserted."
*Go to the Control Panel > Device Manager > AGP Graphic Card > Verify Installed? >
Update Driver! > Restart Computer"

"If this information helped? Return and give a "Helpful Rating," please!

No signal when connecting PC to TV

This happens to almost every laptop I know. Here are several solutions:
1. You need to manually enable video on tv by pressing two buttons on your laptop keyboard. The first is "Fn" (at the left bottom). The second depends on your laptop manufacturer. Look at the function keys. F1....F12 for the LCD/CRT or the corresponding sign. Press and hold Fn and press second button. Sometimes you need to press second button several times. This means you need to cycle through all available options to enable Laptop's screen and TV screen at the same time (clone).
2. Intel Extreme Graphics video cards sometimes doesn't support a procedure described above. You need to find intel video card options manager running at the sys-tray (right bottom of your screen near the clock). Right click on it. Select Graphic Options -> Output to -> Laptop + ... clone (or something similar)
Note that not all video cards are capable of showing the movie on media player at the same time. You need to choose Laptop or TV

hi freddyboyj,

Firstly I want you to make sure that there are no damage to the connectors of your cables or on the ports on your screen card and TV, like bend or missing/dirty pins/wire connections.

Secondly make sure that the display is enabled in ATi Catalyst Control Center.

The connectors you will be using if I understand you correctly will be DVI-to-HDTV (Component video).

Follow the "click here" link at http://support.ati.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=22474
for a detailed instruction set of how to connect your Screen Card to your HDTV via Catalyst Control Center.

Kind regards and thanks for using the FixYa service
