Question about Canon PC-920 Black and White Copier

Paper Tray will not slide back in

I have a Canon PC770. I opened the paper tray and now it will not slide all the way back into the copier (goes all the way except for the last 3 inches. I can't see that anything is broken, in fact - I can't see any reason why it won't slide back in.

    The tray will not slide in, even with the **** shell open

    I just encountered the same problem - nothing stuck but tray will not go back in the final 3 inches or so.

    Did you resolve your problem?

    After many attempts, it finally "slid" back into place and worked fine, until today when indicator showed paper was out - but --- this time the drawer would not come out. Incidentally, the machine had paper.

    Took the screws off the bottom, and although not able to completely removed the metal bottom, was able to pull it out far enough to allow the drawer to be removed.

    The "only" thing that could be seen was a heavy duty spring (about 7" x 1/2" diameter hanging down from the back of the machine to a point where it might touch the back of the paper drawer. Spring wasn't hooked to anything and couldn't find where anything was broken, so pulled out spring.

    Replaced screws on bottom, drawer slid in fine and now makes copies. Have no idea what the spring operated, but at least copies are running.

    Try opening the clamshell of the machine and with it open attempt to push the paper drawer back in. Let me know what happens.

Hi there:
I had the same problem and it made me crazy. All you have to do is pull out the paper tray, pinch the very back wall of it (I think it has a blue button to pinch) and slide the very back of it forward so the paper is snug in the tray. Put the tray back in and it should go away. :)
Hope I helped........

Hi Where do I load the paper in my Canon MX310?

The MX310 is a straight through printer. So you put the paper in the rear tray after opening it. Pull out the paper support and adjust the lever for the paper thickness to match your paper specifications. The lever goes to the left unless printing envelopes and T-shirt transfers. Also pull out the paper output tray and set the output tray extension.

Align the 4 corners of the paper stack (if loading more than one sheet) and bend to uncurl the paper (if needed) before inserting in the rear tray. For photo paper and other pages with a print side and a back, place the pages with the print side facing up. Align the paper against the right side of the rear tray and then pinch the paper guide and slide it to the left side of the paper stack. Make sure to adjust the paper size to match in the computer's printer properties (paper size) or in the copy settings on the all-in-one before either printing or copying.

Specific directions and pictures are in the Quick Start Guide that is available as a PDF here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mx_series/pixma_mx310#BrochuresAndManuals .

I hope this helps.

I have a printer canon inkjet mp140 and i don't know how to insert the paper from the tray that is down or from the upside tray

Well, you should insert the paper "from the upside tray". Follow these steps:
Align the edges of the paper before loading it;
Open the paper support of "the upside tray" and pull out the paper support extension;
Open the paper output tray ("tray that is down");
Adjust the position of the paper thickness lever;
Load the paper in the auto sheet feeder with the print side facing UP;
Align the paper stack against the right side of the auto sheet feeder.
Pinch the paper guide and slide it against the left side of the paper stack.

Error e03, but there is no jammed paper

E, 0, 3
Paper Output Tray is closed / Paper jam

Summary
If the Paper Output Tray is closed, open it. The machine resumes printing.

If opening the Paper Output Tray does not resolve the problem, or if the tray was open to begin with, the paper may be jammed. Remove the jammed paper, reload paper properly in the printer, then press the Black or Color button.

I have a Canon MX860 wireless printer. There is a paper jam. The paper is all the way to the back of where the paper tray goes and I can't reach it. I do not see anywhere on the back of the printer...

Canon says:
  1. Power off the printer.

  2. Remove paper from the Rear Tray.

  3. Look in the Rear Tray area for an obstruction. If there is any foreign material (such as a piece of metal or pen) inside the printer, after turning the printer off and removing the power cord from the outlet, remove the foreign material by hand, or with tweezers.

Printer can't feed paper from tray

You may need to clean the rubber feed roller with a damp towel, water only, or if parts are broken or missing, a new paper tray, around $20.00

Canon PC770 Paper Tray Does not Close Completely

After numerous attempts, the drawer finally slid in and worked --- until today.

New problem - drawer wouldn't come out and indicator showed the paper was out when machine had paper.

Removed screws from bottom of copier - couldn't completely remove the metal plate, but was able to pull it out enough to allow the paper drawer to be removed. Only thing that could be seen as potential problem was a spring hanging down the back that did not seem to be attached to anything. (heavy duty, about 7" long and 1/2 inch diament)

Removed screw, replaced screws in bottom plate - drawer slid in fine - turned on and ran copies just fine. Don't know what the spring was for - but copier is working for the moment.
