For some reason I cannot reply to other inquiry would you please close the problem, I am glad that the configurations worked out for you.
In order to configure the proyector for hd video you would need to change a couple of things in your set up.
First you would need to use hd cables, and not the rgb. You can
purchase some standard high def cables at any best buy or radioshack,
depending on the source device there is the standard high def out, the
set of 5 cables, 3 video plus the 2 audio.
To enable the unit to support the progressive DVD signal, perform the following procedure.
Connect the DVD player’s component output into Input A. In the SET SETTING menu select HDTV-YPbPr for Input A. In the INPUT SETTING menu highlight Sync and select EXT (HV). The IDTV module disables itself automatically
Perform this procedure with nothing connected
to the component input on the projector, otherwise you will get the an
off/on flickering screen which prevents you from seing what you are
doing when navigating the menu screens. Perform the procedure and then
I would use the s-video connection even though I see word that the Sky+ box does not have automatic aspect ratio switching on the s-video output.
You could also use an SCART to RGB cable but the picture quality will only be marginally read:un-noticeably better.
Here is an s-video cable:http://www.rselectronics.com/Catalog/ViewPart.aspx?Part=CSV-06&MFG=QVS
And here is the SCART to RGB:
Check the green signal lead - if one of the RGB leads doesn't make good contact, the picture will take on an odd tint that doesn't always look like it's missing one of those colours. For some reason, the green is always the most common one to fail.
Which sky box do you have and which model projector. are you trying to use SCART or YUV or what.
Please describe the connector available on the sky box and the projector. if you dont know or they are not labeled nicely please refer to the chart in the link below and let me know what is on both boxes. I will do my best to reply with EXACTLY what cable you need and a good place to order it, US and UK.
Also let me know what distance you need to run.
