Question about Kenmore Dryers

My dryer will not stay running when it has clothes in it.

When the dryer does not have clothes in it then it runs fine, when you put clothes in it shuts off within a few minutes.

Kenmore 90 series dryer runs fine until I put clothes in it then it shuts off after I let go of start button

If you are lucky, it is just a heater relay.

You can actually use the motor relay to test if the heater relay is bad, by switching them around. They are interchangeable!
Below is a parts layout for reference.

  1. Unplug power
  2. Then pry the left end cap loose
  3. Remove the philips screw holding the control panel
  4. Remove the back panel plate to inspect, see below diagram:

If the dryer stays running when you push "start", you must replace the heater relay!

Note: Do not run your dryer until you have all returned the wires to their proper relays...

I have a LG Electric Dryer DLE5932W. When I run it on any of the settings in sensor dry the dryer turns off before the clothes are dry and you have to run it multiple times to get a load dry. Then if you...

this could be operator error please hear me out...... when wash bath towels you also put in wash cloths and hand towels .... there is a sensor in dryer drum shroud in front of lint filter to metal silver strips when the clothes are tumbling they sweep across this sensor telling the dryer heat to stay on and continue to dry.... if th small wash cloth sweeps it first before the bath towel then u get the same results as your describing just like if you were waqshing colors load like cotton tshirt and blue jeans the tshirt is going to dry way faster than blue jeans so if the tshirt sweeps that sensor first the dryer going to shut off we have to sort our clothes to thickness ans same size articles just try it once i bet your clothes are dry when cycle completes

I have a ge profile dryer model dpsb513eboww and the sensor dry doesn't work properly. It runs 3 minutes then shuts off. The clothes are still wet. All else works fine.

You should inside the driver and on the front or back wall will be the sensor: two metal bars that send an electric current through the clothing. When the dryer detects more current goes through, it knows the clothes are still wet and keep running. If the sensor bars are broken, disconnected, or dirty, it will read no current and think you put clothes in there that were already dry. Make sure those contacts are nice and clean. Failing that, you'll need to test the sensor circuit for voltage to see what the problem is.

Electric clothes dryer

The most likely cause is a bad timer. The timer determines how long the unit stays running (drying the clothes). A timer is typically $100-150.

Secondly, it could be a faulty motor. This part generally cost about $100-200 dollars.
