Question about Samsung Televison & Video

1 Answer

I recently bought a LE19A656A 19ins IDTV for my bedroom, approx 1/2 hour after switching to standby there is a flash as if a camera has flashed and white lines appear on the screen, is it a fire hazard? What is causing it and how can I solve this problem, as it is startling when you are trying to get to sleep.

If the tv is not a plasma unit which are expensive to run I would not be bothered completely turning off the power. I have a power supply readout connected in the mains power and Like you I believed the hype about switching every thing off but I learnt that the cost is virtually nill. to run. For a example I have 2 moniters + 1 computer+1 printer +1 tube type TV+ clocks( all on standby) + night light and the cost is .001 cents /kilowatt hour.. IT climbs to .002 cents when the 2 fridges cut in then drops back when they cut out.. Another point is when you continually switch electronic units on and off they will suffer more failure than leaving them on stand by

Recently purchased the Sony DSC-W290 and I have

how long do you usually charged the batt? to make charge last slightly longer leave the batt inside the charger for an hour after the charger light goes off. if you have a fully charged batt you should be able to take approx. 300 pics or 2.5hrs approx.batt life. for viewing pics it should give you approx. 6800 pics and approx. 5.5 hrs. of course, number of still images and and batt life may vary depending on the camera settings.so if you're zooming in and out, using the flash, going from camera to play mode, turning cam on and off, using other settings and features of the camera, this will cause the batt to drain much faster.also ambient temperature also affects batt life.if it's very cold, the batt drains a bit faster.also, it's recommended that if you're not using the camera to remove the batt.retaining the camera settings, date & time will cause batt to drain even if your not using it. if did this and still you think it's odd that your batt drains quickly and looses charge even if it's fully charge, it might also indicate that what you might be a defective batt. one way to find out is to try using the same type of batt from a friend or a relative that has one to confirm and further isolate issue.anyway, supplied accessories has the same warranty that applies to your camera.so you may send it out and have it replaced if needed.hope this helps.thanks:)

Same thing

More Info please, it will usually go to standby if camera turned off or after the meter shuts down after a predetermined time (nikon default setting in camera is usually 6 secs.).
So if you switch camera back on or push shutter release to wake up metering system flash should automatically come out of standby.
Or you can push the on / off button for approx 1 / 2 secs. this will wake it up , then turn it off. Hope this may help Ian

When i switch my panasonic tx-21md1 television at the power switch all that happens is that the standby light just flashes on and off at approx 1 second intervals even with no leads connected at the rear.

your set is entering protective shutdown. Most likely its a failure in the standby or start up voltages that is allowing a voltage to increase triggering the shutdown circuitry to prevent your set from starting. Do you have any trouble shooting skills?

My snaps are underexposed with 350D camera and 580EX TTL

Set camera:

Single shot mode not servo/C modes
Focus sensor set for center
Make sure exp. comp is not set on -(minus) side.
Make sure your subject is locked on and not moving out of the autofocus (center) sensor.

Help! My flash isn't working!

1 The flash- with the camera shut down take the batteries out. leave an hour. put them back in. Now - switch on and go to flash mode. Hold the camera to your ear.Can you hear a slight hgih pitched whine? This is the capacitor charging up. If you did not hear it then the flash unit is dead. But to be sure- read the manual and make sure you have set it up and operating it correctly. Blurry picture are something else[possibly] Check that you have not inadvertantly got the camera set to MACRO mode[this may also affect the flash inability. A good reread of the manual will do little harm and check out all those controls again.
