Projects in black and white

I turned on my projector and it will only project in black and white no colour. The lamp indicator advises to change the bulb. Is this to do with the bulb or another problem.

It's probably the color-wheel problem. Maybe the color-wheel stucked because of dust and/or color-wheel sensor is covered with dust.

The simple way to check this, without reinstalling drivers or so, you just tap menu button on remote. If you will see only black-white user interface it is definitly color-wheel.

Good luck.

It's not your bulb.

When bulbs get older you will notice the picture is not as bright as it used to be. Eventually the bulb will go completely (no picture) and you will have to replace it.

What it is your projector connected to as a source? Try connecting a different source and see if it is still black and white. If you're using a computer, try reinstalling the driver.

Go into the menu for the projector and reset it back to factory defaults. If none of these suggestions work you may have to contact the manufacturer to see about having it serviced.

BenQ MP 670 black spots

Black spots are more likely to indicate a partial failure of the DLP chip. The lamp cannot produce such a symptom sadly.

Repair will be quite expensive...

Red warning light

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

  • Secure the lamp cover and the air filter cover of the projector body if the projector does not power on. Ensure that the power cable is firmly connected to the projector and an active power plug. If the projector was turned off and then on quickly--let it sit for 90 seconds before trying to turn it on.

  • 2
Replace the projection lamp if the projector will not power on or if the lamp indicator is flashing. Turn off the projector and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Locate the lamp cover and remove or loosen the lamp cover with a screwdriver. Carefully remove the projection lamp from the projector housing using the handle, if available.

  • 3
Place the new projection lamp into the projector housing and secure it to the projector. Replace the lamp cover and reset the lamp timer. Power on the projector to ensure the new lamp is working correctly.

  • 4
Remove the projector from the enclosed area to allow air circulation if it constantly overheats. Place the projector into an open area and make sure there is no blockage for the ventilation holes. Unplug the projector for at least 45 minutes to allow it to soft reset.

  • 5
Clean the air filter to allow the projector better air circulation. Turn off the projector and unplug it from the outlet. Remove the air filter cover and use a vacuum to remove dust from the area. If the filter is unable to be cleaned correctly or is damaged, then replace it. Pull the air filter from the projector and place the new one in the now empty slot. Close and secure the air filter cover.

After changing the bulb image will not come on and solid orange light appears

Other then POWER BUTTON light there are three lights more
1. lamp indicator
2. temperature indicator
3. computer input
witch one light is flashing RED or illuminated RED with POWER BUTTON orange light.
If LAMP INDICATOR light is illuminated RED than lamp runtime has reached 1800 hours. but projector still working.
If LAMP INDICATOR light flashing RED than lamp circuit failure, or abnormal function or lamp unit is damaged. In this case projector doing the same behave just like your projector.
if TEMPERATURE indicator illuminating RED the projector still projecting and if flashing RED than turned of itself

Projecting in green.

lamp may be on it's way out. if the mercury vapor burns at a different temperature than it's designed to, you will get a different color. also check the lamp for bulges, black spots or fogging. if it has any of those, replace it. if the lamp is ok, replace the ballast.
