Question about Apple iPod touch
From the sounds of things, there seems to be an issue with your computer and not the ipod. If AMDS (apple mobile device service) won't start, generally a fresh install fixes the problem. I can only assume that you've got another piece of software on your computer that is inhibiting the performance of the program. You're right, it's really unfortunate that the touch is having so much difficulty. They really designed a nice device, but the software for PC users is really letting it down. . Here is a website you can check out that shows how to restart the AMDS if you haven't already tried that. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567 . if you have or it doesn't work, go to your control panel, then add/remove programs, then find the AMDS and click on repair. I hear it takes some time for the repair to be completed, but be patient. I hear this solution works best. when all else fails. . Ciza
