Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do I do hard reset to factory settings on mac

Much like a PC, there isn't a magic button to do a factory reset on the computer. If you're unable to use the current hard drive, you'll need a bootable disc and boot holding the option key to select it as a boot disk. If the drive is bad, you'll need to replace it.

Hi i have a toshiba satellite pro l450d series how do i get it back to factory setting please

1. Make sure to back up all the important files that you have in your computer. 2. Shut down the computer.
3. Turn the PC back on and hit the F8 key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Option Screen appears.
4. Click "Repair Your Computer" if you are not already on it and then press ENTER
5. choose your country and click OK
6. On the "System Recovery Options Screen" click "Restore Application" which is the last option.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions
8. When prompted, click on "Full Factory Recovery"
9. "Next"
10. Click "Yes"
11. you will notice for a while it seems like nothing is happening, give it some time.
12. After some minutes, recovery will complete and you click "Finish"

Hopefully this will help you..:)

I want to restore my mac back to factory settings

There are 2 ways this is most commonly accomplished: 1: You could use the original OSX disk to reformat your MacBook and restore it to the factory settings. You'll need to click on "install Tiger" after putting the CD in and it will restart the mac. A dialog box will come up, click on options, then choose "erase and install". This will erase the ALL DATA so make sure that is what you really want. If you do not have the disk, proceed to step 2.
2: Create a new user account on your laptop. After you create the new account, log out then log back in and erase the old user account. This will delete all the personal files from the original acoount. However, the best way to actually get it back to factory would be step one because step 2 does not actually delete or reset any settings that were modified by the original user account. If possible, always try to procure a disk when restoring. It is definitely the better way to go. I hope this helps you! Please remember to vote if this helped.

My MacBook Pro won't read discs. ''mhmmm'' noise.

Hi Quilly There are two possible scenarios. 1. the lens on the cd drive is dirty and needs a clean , and 2. the drive itself has failed.
1 is easy to fix with a lens cleaning CD on a tray loading drive but is a bit more difficult on the slot-loader as the brush on the CD makes it rather difficult to insert. 2 needs a workshop and a new drive.

Hi I'm having problems with my Gateway desktop computer. I've been getting a blue screen and I tried doing a system restore, but it failed as well as the windows repair tool option. Can you please advise...

If you are getting blue screen all the time then i would try checking the memory and see if this resolves the problem Failing that a full system restore back to factory settings if this fails then a new hard drive will need to be purchased and everything re installed again hope this helps

Hi i have a ibook g3 { i just bought it from a friend} i can i restore to a factory settings without a trouble

To restore an iBook G3 to factory settings you need the installation CDs that came with the iBook. Ask your friend to find them. Sometimes you can purchase replacement sets on eBay, but they have to be for your exact model. Please realize that the original installation CDs that came with this iBook will contain OS 9, not OS X, so I question whether you really want to restore this machine "to factory settings." What you may choose to do instead is a "clean install" from a more recent retail OS X CD or DVD.

I'm selling my iBook G4 (os X tiger) and I need to set it to factory settings. I have master password set up and some sort of safety net password that lets me unlock any FileVault account( I do remember...

Your best bet is to insert the original discs that came with the computer, restart it, and hold down the C key as soon as it reboots. This will tell the computer to boot off of the installer disc you have inserted. Once that is done, step through the installer, keeping an eye out for an "options" button on the 2nd or 3rd screen. Click on that, and choose "Erase and Install" as your installation type.
This will erase the drive, and reinstall a fresh copy of that version of OS X with no users or passwords set. If you're feeling nice, you can probably also use those discs to reinstall all of the software that came with the computer. (iPhoto, etc.)
