It sounds like it's completely broken. If the screen was the only thing that was broken, the sound would probably still work. The system might have gotten wet or had some other kind of damage, so it's hard to know what the actual problem is, but it would probably cost more to fix it than to buy a different one.

SOURCE: wont work the gameboy color screen shows a blurred nintendo logo

this happened to me as well, from personal experience it seems that your game got to hot and fried the circuitry a bit, i had to get a new game, found out if a little moister gets in there and heats up on a hot day, the power supply on the game system fries the circiutry, if you got it used see if they will return it for a better one, if you recently got it, i hope so...best of luck...shia

SOURCE: i turn on by gameboy color and the game screen goes blank

Are you sure the connectors are clean? Dirty connectors can impair gameplay. You can purchase a cleaning kit to clean the connectors for both the cartridge and the system. Or if you're in a hurry, just blow into the cartridge connectors and the cartridge slot. Just make sure you don't spit or sneeze.

SOURCE: I put in a game to my gameboy color, and it reads

Take out the carteridge and blow in the game to clear out any dut or anything. If that doesn't fix it it's likley your game is bad.

I have a gameboy color and when I turn it on the power light flashes red and then immediately turns off, nothing is displayed on the screen. The batteries are new and I've tried it both with and...

My guess is that there could be a lot of things that could be wrong with it. It could be maybe the fuses or one of the fuse it not working or it could be some internal problems with the game board its self that makes it work.when things get old they start to break down. It might not be a simple fix then so it would be easier just to buy a new one from lukie games

Blank screen

its most likely corroded battery terminals so take the batteries out and clean the terminals with some alchohol and then try. if nothing happens then your gameboy is dead. A cold environment is a good place to store electronics so I don't think it is that. most gameboy problems are caused by ageing of the device.

Hello, when I turn on the gameboy color it stays on the logo screen. This happens even if I insert a game. Any ideas?

Are the batteries new?

Insert the game before you turn on the gameboy. Try blowing air in the connections area of the game and in the connections area of the gameboy itself.
