There is a little switch on the left side of SD cards; if it's down, your card is locked and you cannot copy anything on it or delete anyfile, also you cannot take any picture by it. so you have to change the switch postion. just this! I hope this helps...

Memory card error message on a canon powershot A700

On an SD card there is a switch at the side which can be moved to protect the card contents (locked) or permit writing to the card (unlocked). Just move this to the unlocked position.

My Canon PowerShot SX110IS shows "Card Locked!" on the screen even though the memory card is not locked.

I am having a similar problem. It worked fine. Took pictures in AM. By PM I received the same message. The memory card is NOT LOCKED, yet it is reported as so.

I put in a new card and I'm getting a message that says memory card error. It's snot locked and it's in correctly

There are several possible causes for "memory card locked" or "memory card error". Some include trying to use of a 4GB SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out (such as the A520). Others include problems with the switch on the side of the card, and the switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Sd is locked and cannot remove pictures from card

On the side of your SD card there should be a little sliding switch. Slide the switch back up and that should solve the problem of the card being locked.

Memory card locked!

There is alittle slide on the memory card.
Take it out. Look for it. Depending what you have it may be yellow, look on the left. If it's down, slide up and it will be unlocked. :)

Card locked

Have you checked to make sure the card isn't locked? On the side of the card there is a sliding switch which locks and unlocks cards. You might check that.

"Card locked!'

If it is an SD card, theres a little tab/switch that locks the card, pull the card out from the camera and push that tab to unlock and put it back in again... it should work after that...
