Control panel set to Line out for external speakers so that ok.

Its a macintosh cpu so speaker minijack was in the correct output.

Speakers were working fine then one of the channels just went with a slight crackle then lost it!

So its really trying to find out how to fix a 'none responding channel' ?

    Thanks for the reply!

Goto your control panel and set which type of speaker you r using
and get proper cable for connectivity to your cpu to speaker
and install matchable audio driver which suited to your hardware

one think you also check for your cpu is that
there are there pin in bihind your cpu one for dedicated to microphone
and other are used to get connected to speakers so let me know what socket pin and color r u using
ok and check correctly for your own knowledge

I have JBL encounter speakers and i want use them with my Mac, when i plug nothing comes out (sound)

Hi,
Wanted to clarify , if the you plug in a headphone are you are able to get the sound from them . If yes than , you might need to check the connection on the speakers. If the headphones are also not working through the audio jack . You would have to check the following

1. Check if there is any external damage to the audio jacks both on the MAC and the JBL connector
2. Check if the sound properties on the MAC are configured correctly
3. Check if the sound card drivers are installed correctly.

Thanks for using fixya

JBL speaker's woofer occasionally cuts out - tweeter still works.

Your driver has a damaged voice coil, you can either find a speaker repairer to replace the voice coil or find a replacement driver to fit.

I have jbl encounter speaker, my left speaker is very weak compared to the right channel. I can hardly hear the sound out of the left one.

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems
hope this helps you

Have a JBL Encounter 2.1 Multi Media Speaker System need to find a power lead and speaker jack for it im resident in uk and need voltage requirements regards

you shouldnt have to worry about a speaker jack for it. it should work anywhere and a simple usa to uk power adapter will work for you it just changes the plug type and up or downs the voltage (i cant recall if uk is higher or lower then the u.s)

This thing isn't build with jbl speakers! cuz i repire this sub 2 weeks a ago this sub was build by some kind of unbrand chines speakers..so any one know about that..otherwise i heard jbl use onl JBL brand...

JBL is obviously just putting their name on your product. Just the way it is. They put their name on it, but use inferior parts. It is cheaper for JBL to have other folks make the stuff.

My JVC receiver won't play my left front speaker. The right one seems to work fine but when I plug in the left it is virtually silent. i too have had a few "overload" incidents and am running two JBL 8...

swap the wires around to see if the right speaker will give sound on the left channel. If it does, the it's a blown left speaker. If you don't get sound out the right one either, then the left channel ouput has a bad capacitor somewhere in it.

I couldnt adjust the volume with the JBL encounter speakers when i plug it in my laptop, but when i plug it in my iPod, i works perfectly... Can anyone help?

If you are using windows then go to
  • control panel
  • open-> sound and audio devices
  • a window will open showing your sound configuration
  • towards the bottom of that window, you would find speaker volume-click it
  • on the next window, click the button saying restore deafults
Now check the sound.
Hope, this helps.

Otherwise tell me.

HI! Red14 happy holidays
Well, may be a lot things, from bad cable, welding inside , or bad resistor is burn. but check the cable, and if you can open the panel on inside speakers, try to figure out if the cable is not loose, or bad.
