A klicksound like a slipping gear every 4th second and no copying working

When I start the machine it never et ready to copy. It is just making a klicksound like a slipping gear evedry 4th second and it does not respond on copybutton. Sometimes it has started when I have opened the paperbox and put it in again but sometimes it does not. I have not found any reason for this behavior any time.

Solution : Power OFF the Printer, Wait 45 Seconds, Then Power ON CAUTION: If the machine is powered OFF / powered ON, all information that is stored in the machine's memory may be erased.
NOTE: Before powering OFF, make sure that all copy or print jobs have completely finished. Never power OFF in the following instances:
  • While data is being received.
  • While jobs are being printed.
  • While jobs are being copied.
  • While a scan is being executed.
  1. Power OFF the machine. The power switch is located on the front right side of the machine under the Control Panel.

NOTE: Before the machine is powered ON again make sure the Touch Screen is blank.

  2. Power ON the machine.

NOTE: When the power is ON, a 'Please wait...' message will be displayed. This message indicates that the machine is warming up and cannot be used. After 45 seconds, the machine becomes ready for use.

If the issue is not resolved repeat steps 1 and 2 a second time.

I have a Sharp AL 1631 it won't print. It shows an H-4 in the menu screen

Press "Clear" then "Exposure Mode" then "Clear" then "Exposure Mode" quickly like within 4 seconds. The exposure mode key is the far left key.
If you do this correctly the display will go blank.
Key in 14 as if making 14 copies
Press the print button.
Short version: C, far left, C, far left, 14, print
The machine should reset and run fine. This is a common "false" code on these machines.
If it comes back after a couple of tries the you have a thermal fuse or heater lamp failure.

: The problem occurs because of the trickle development system in the machine, making extended lengths of black and white copies / prints does not allow the black developer housing to purge itself of excess waste Toner (Dry Ink) and Developer. There are two solutions for the problem:
  • Make 1,000 copies / prints of a black and white job, then make 150 copies / prints of full color. Continue making 1,000 copies / prints of the black and white job, then 150 full color, and so on, until the entire black and white job is complete.
  • Make extended jobs in groups of 100 by making 100 copies / prints of the black and white job, then allowing the machine to cycle down (return to 'Ready') and making the next 100 copies / prints. Continue in this pattern until the entire black and white job is complete.
or
  1. Power OFF the machine.

  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Power ON the machine.

Do you have a AR-LC4 attached to the machine, if you do make sure that it is attached securely and level.

If that doesn't work, check your developer unit looking at the drive gear in the back of the unit.  Turn the gear and make sure that it turns the mixing paddles without slippage.  If it slips, replace the gear.

If it turns everything okay then check the mixing paddles it self to make sure that none of them are broken and not getting toner to the developer, if they are broken replace them or replace the whole developer unit and developer.
